Bulls React To Heath Hiring: Jesus Verdejo

USF took a step in the right direction to restore respect and pride back into their basketball program. The hiring of head coach Stan Heath ushers in a sense of excitement amongst the local media and fans alike regarding the future. However, the ones who may be the most excited, and affected are the players. In Todays feature USFN talked with guard Jesus Verdejo and got his thoughts.

USFNation: What do you think now about having Coach Heath as your new head coach?

Jesus Verdejo: "I am just very excited now about being with a new head coach, and the fact that he likes to play the same style of game that I like to play!

 

USFN: How will his style of play fit your game style?

Verdejo: I like to run and he likes to run and I'm just very excited and looking forward to next year.

 

USFN: Do you feel a little more relieved now that you know the direction you guys are going in?

Verdejo: Yeah, yeah, definitely! It was hard, we were in a situation where we didn't know who we were gonna' get. But now that we know who we've got, and we just have to get ourselves ready for the off-season.

 

USFN: What was that like to have your first team meeting with Coach Heath?

Verdejo:  It was good! I was just excited to see to what type of person he was.

 

USFN: Was there a big difference in the locker room?

Verdejo: Well, there was not a big difference, but of course all of the players are happy that we have a new coach, but I think everybody is just looking forward to the next season.
