USF Offers First Coast WR Commack

The USF coaching staff has shown interest in Avis Commack for weeks, but waited until recently to offer. Find out what effect that will have on the Bulls chances, where he plans to visit this summer and what USF coach has been recruiting the 6'4 receiver.

It finally happen, the Bulls offered First Coast wide receiver Avis Commack. Commack who had 43 catches and 10 touchdowns as a junior is one of the top players in the Jax area and has collected several offers in this spring. Before last week he had offers from South Carolina, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Illinois. Then he received a flurry of offers in the last 5 days.

"On Thursday I got a written offer from USF." Commack added, "I also got an offer from West Virginia, Maryland, Miami and Georgia Tech sent me the offer in writing. They offered a few weeks ago, but sent me the letter in the mail last week."

Commack says he has been recruited by Coach Troy Douglas.

"I've talked to him on the phone once. We text mostly, he's nice and I can tell that USF is really interested in me."

Although USF has shown interest for weeks now, they delayed offering Commack until last week, a move that could have them playing catch-up with several teams.

"Right now I'd say Minnesota is recruiting me the hardest. My top 5 isn't in order but its FSU, UM, GT, SC and Minnesota."

The Bulls have plenty of time to make up ground and Avis will give them that chance this summer. He says that Tampa will be one of his few stops this summer.

"I want to check out Georgia Tech, South Florida, FSU and maybe Auburn. I'll probably attend the camps, it gives me a chance to get a feel for the coaches."

The 6-foot-4 receiver currently holds a 2.7 GPA and he has already taken both the SAT & the ACT. You can count on USFNation to follow Avis Commack as he goes through the recruiting process.
