Miami LB 'I'm a student of the game'

At 6-foot 200 pounds Sean Spence is a read-and-react type linebacker. Last season he had 190 tackles and made plays all over the field. Its easy to see why the Bulls have offered this tackling machine. Read on to find out about his interest in USF, who else has offered and much more.

South Florida continues to throw out offers down in the Miami area. This time its LB Sean Spence on the receiving end. He's a 6-foot 202 pound stick of dynamite from Northwestern high school. Spence has been highly recruited and has offers from schools such as Alabama, Miami, FIU, Rutgers, Minnesota, UCF, North Carolina and now USF.

Last year Spence had unbelievable numbers – 197 tackles, 10 for loss, 2 INT's, 1 fum rec. He's a player built on speed, that's why he likens himself to Miami grad and current NFL'er DJ Williams.

"I play fast. From sideline to sideline I'm a read and react type player. I watch a lot of film and consider myself a student of the game."

It's easy to see why he appeals to USF, a Stephen Nicholas type athlete with the same hunger off the field and in the film room. Spence also has a family connection with the Bulls.

"My sister is a junior right now at USF." Adding, "It would be good to go through my freshman year with her at the same school."

Although there is a family connection Sean says its too early to name a favorite.

"After this summer I'm going to take some visits and probably decide after my season is over. Right now I'm committed to my team and I want to work hard to get better."

Sean Spence is the type of linebacker USF craves. He's built on speed and aggressiveness something that guys like Kawika Mitchell, Stephen Nicholas and Pat St. Louis brought to every game that they suited up in while wearing the green and gold. Follow USFNation for more updates on Sean Spence.
