New Bulls coach Stan Heath has been staying busy on the recruiting trail. This past weekend Heath traveled all the way to Akron Ohio for the King James Shooting classic to get a closer look at recently offered forward/center Sean Carter out of Laurinburg Prep.

"Coach Stan Heath and one of his assistants came in this past weekend to watch me play."

Carter, a native of Fayetteville, N.C., attended 71st HS before he decided to spend his senior year at Laurinburg Prep to get more exposure. Apparently that was a good decision for Carter who was virtual unknown heading into his senior campaign, but now holds a multitude of D-1 offers including, George Washington, Rhode Island, UNC-Wilmington, Jacksonville, Tulsa and Duquesne.

"I don't know how many offers I have totaled, but it has really picked up lately. I know Rutgers offered me, V-Tech offered, South Florida, Rhode Island, DePaul, and Ole Miss have all offered lately."

Carter might have been an unknown to others, but drew the interest of the Bulls new head coach Stan Heath.

"South Florida actually offered me a couple of weeks ago right after my spring break they came in and offered me."

"I didn't know all that much about the program, I know he's the new coach down there. We talked for awhile, and he told me that they don't have any bigs, that they don't have any size for this year. I think they only have one big down there right now."

At 6'9, 215 pounds Carter can play either center or forward, both a need position for the Bulls.

"He told me they need a good forward and a wing and that they signed a wing, some kid from Miami."

"My strengths are my running and jumping, my rebounding. I want to work on my offensive game, I can finish but I want to work on my finishing."

What is the talented Carter looking for in a program?

"The main things I'm looking for in a program is the opportunity for playing time mostly, and the chance to get better. I'm also looking for a coach that can help me develop as a player."

Carter, took an unofficial visit to St. Johns during spring break, and is looking to set up more visits this month.

"I plan on setting up visits with Rutgers, South Florida, DePaul and Rhode Island. I'm not real sure about the ones to Rhode Island and DePaul though. They all called me over the last few days, so I have to sit down and talk things over with my mom, because I only have four visits left."

Carter indicated that he doesn't have any real favorites just yet.

"I don't have a clear favorite, but of the schools that I mentioned that's probably where I'll be attending."

With graduation right around the corner, carter plans on having a busy month.

"I'm sure on when I'm setting up the visits because right now there some stuff I have to finish up for school for graduation, I have to do some stuff."

When does Carter hope to make his decision of where he spends his college career?

I'm going to set up all my visits over the rest of this month, and make my decision after that, but I hope to make a decision by the end of this month."
