Bulls Offer Two Sport Star

The Bulls have offered quarterback Casey Kelly from Sarasota High School. Find out what the 6-4, 195 pound signal caller has to say about the Bulls, his other offers and about a family tie to USF that may surprise you. Get informed, only on USFNation.com!

It's spring evaluation time and the staff has found a gem. From Sarasota High School, quarterback Casey Kelly is the latest signal caller offered by the Bulls. Last season Kelly threw for almost 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns with a 57% completion percentage. At 6-foot-4, 195 pounds he has the ideal frame and speed to accompany it. Kelly was tested in the 40 yard dash at a quick 4.6 seconds. He is also a talented baseball player who is drawing interest from pro scouts as a junior.

"Which ever college I choose I plan on playing both baseball and football." Kelly has been keeping an eye on the changes with USF baseball, "I know they changed coaches and the team is playing better. I haven't been to a game yet, I need to find out more about the program."

He may not be familiar with the baseball team, but he has already seen the football program up close.

"Last season I took an unofficial visit for one of the home games. I toured the stadium and got to meet some of the coaches before the game. It was a good time."

Kelly has also been corresponding with the big man himself.

"Coach Leavitt is the main coach recruiting me. We text quite a bit."

This offseason Casey has been busy with baseball. As the season comes to an end it will overlap with the start of spring, he says he probably wont put pads on. By not participating in spring practice he will miss an opportunity to be evaluated by college coaches. However it looks like that will not stop the offers from rolling in. Currently 6 teams have offered including Alabama, USF, Tennessee, Duke, UCF and Ole Miss.

"Right now my top 5 are Tennessee, Ole Miss, Bama, Duke and USF."

Once again, Casey Kelly is another recruit with family ties to South Florida. His sister is a cheerleader for the Bulls and would probably love to see little brother at quarterback at USF. However it's still a long way till decision time and Casey plans on waiting till signing day.

"I need a lot of time." Kelly said playfully. "With baseball and everything it makes the decision more complicated. I will take some visits in the fall and get an idea of where I want to go, but I could be undecided until signing day."

Where ever he goes USFNation.com will follow him up to his decision. Check back for updates on new offers and visits throughout the summer.
