Bulls Close to Offering Boca Ciega QB

USFNation has told you about several QB's the Bulls have offered in the past two weeks. Now we bring you Orhian Johnson, he does not have a USF offer yet, but one could be in the works. Find out about this Pinellas County prospect and why the Bulls are so high on him. Get informed, only on USFNation.com!

It's not unusual for the staff at USF to recruit quarterbacks who can play multiple positions. That's why Boca Ciega's Ohriane Johnson is high on the Bulls recruiting board. As a sophomore Johnson was voted team defensive MVP at safety, he was moved to QB last season and put up a respectable 700 yards through the air and 200 more on the ground with 12 scores. He's one of the best two way athletes in the county and he currently holds a 3.4 GPA.

"Right now I have an offer from FIU." Johnson added that USF is also interested, "I text with coach Gregory a lot. I like the program and what they have done in only 10 years."

Johnson has become more familiar with the South Florida program since his former teammate Josh Bellamy signed with the Bulls as part of the '07 recruiting class.

"Yeah he talks to me about USF. He thinks I should go there." Johnson said, "He also helps me with the recruiting process in general, he's like a big brother to me. He wants me at USF, but he also says it's up to me and in the end I have to make the best choice for myself."

This summer Johnson will put in extra time in the weight room, at 6-foot-4, 184 pounds he wants to put on a little more weight to make him more versatile. Johnson will also attend the UF Elite QB camp, the FSU camp and a few others, but he's not sure which just yet.

Although he is being featured at QB in his high school offense Ohriane says he's not opposed to making a switch.

"I'll play where ever the coaches want me. Whatever gets me on the field." He also wanted to clarify that it doesn't necessarily mean playing his freshman year. "I'll do what ever they say, if it means red shirting my freshman year and then playing on defense that's what I'll do, but right now I'm working on getting better as a quarterback."

Ohriane Johnson does not currently have an offer from USF, but the staff at USFNation.com thinks he will receive one in the near future. He's the type of player who brings athleticism and variety to any team and in the past this is the type of prospect USF has gone after. If/when he is offered we will be sure to bring you the news.
