Lemar Griffin, a 5'8.5, 165 pound RB/WR/ATH from G.W. Jenkins HS in Lakeland  has yet to pick up his first offer, but after a strong showing at the combine in Miami, and a great spring game all that could be changing real soon.

"I'm starting to get some love thrown my way now and I like that. I've been working real hard and I'm a much better payer then I was last year."

At the combine in Miami Griffin wasn't the biggest receiver out there, but showed tremendous quickness and hands through the drills, had some of the best testing numbers at the event, and was named to the All-Combine team. His numbers, 4.38 in the 40, 4.19 in the shuttle, and a 38 inch vertical were so good that it caused some controversy at the combine.

"Yes sir the first time I ran it they said I ran it a 4.3 flat, and they were like you got to run it again. I then ran a 4.38 two times in a row and said are we cool now?"

Griffin, stock should also climb after a great showing during his spring jamboree where G.W. Jenkins faced off against North East HS.

"We just had our spring game and I did real good. I played running back most of the game and had 16 carries for 131 yards and a touchdown. I also caught 4 passes for like 63 yards but I didn't play much in the 4th quarter. And if I didn't have the ball in my hands I was blocking out there."

Besides running the ball and catching the ball Griffin is aso a solid kick returner, but didn't get a good chance to showcase his talents at the spring game.

"They wouldn't kick to me all night. They were kicking out of bounds. They were kicking to the second line.  ll night I was like please kick it to me. But I did have one return for 53 yards."

Before this spring Griffin wasn't getting a lot of attention but  all of that has changed lately.

"Things have really picked up and a lot of schools are showing me some interest now, the ones showing the most are Southern Illinois, Purdue, Wake Forrest, South Carolina, and USF.

Griffin hasn't gone on any visits yet, but has stopped by several spring practices at USF and made an unofficial visit to South Carolina.

"I went up to South Carolina for a one day visit. I wasn't planning on it, but I actually had top go up there for a funeral, so made plans to stop by. It was pretty fun, they had a Heisman trophy there and I was like I gotta win one of these."

Griffin doesn't currently have any offers which he attributes to his teams poor record but says all that could be changing real soon.

"I don't have any offers but a lot of schools are showing interest and have said some offers could be around the corner."

Griffin may not have any offers yet but he does have an early list of favorites.

"My favorites right now would be South Carolina, Southern Illinois and USF, and Purdue would be my 4th."

"One of the USF coaches was at my spring game but I don't know his name. I really like USF, there right around the corner."

Griffin plans on working hard and staying busy going to different camps in hopes to improve his stock.

"I plan on going to the one day camps at Perdue, USF, Wake Forest, South Carolina, FAU, and Southern Illinois right now."
