Bulls Offer Local QB

Two weeks ago USFNation said it would happen, now Orhian Johnson has his offer from USF. Find out who else has offered, why he likes the Bulls and much more. Get informed, only on USFNation.com!

The Bulls have done tremendous things in 10 short years. To go from a sandlot team to a threat to win the Big East was only a dream a decade ago. USF did it from the ground up, with local talent and with cast-off's from the Big 3. It may not have been pretty, but now its paying off and recruits have taken notice.

"I think USF is a great school." Said QB Orhian Johnson from Boca Ciega. "I like what they have done in 10 years. They built a program and they did it with kids from the area."

A few weeks ago USFNation reported that Johnson was one of the top QB's on the Bulls board, but he did not have an offer. Well last week things changed.

"Coach told me last Wednesday that USF had sent me an offer in the mail." Adding, "I appreciate the offer and think that a school like South Florida offering me is a compliment to my game. I work very hard and it's good to see it pay off."

Johnson's hard work this spring paid off. In front of dozens of scouts he threw for over 150 yards and rushed or another 100, he also threw two touchdowns.

"I had a good game. I knew I had to come out sharp after they returned the opening kick-off back for a touchdown."

The first drive lasted 4 plays and resulted in a 38 yard touchdown pass. Johnson showed scouts his best two strengths, his arm and his big play capabilities. They took notice. In less than a week he has already doubled his offer list, picking up two more over the weekend.

"I got an offer from Western Kentucky and Indiana. Ohio State text me right after the game and told me they liked what they saw and would stay in contact with me."

Although Johnson is not ready to name a top 5 he says the Bulls are near the top when it comes to interest. Playing with former teammate Josh Bellamy would be "awesome". For now he is concentrating on working out and nailing down a visit schedule for this summer.

"Right now me and my dad are talking about where I'll visit. We should know in the next week or two."

Expect Johnson to take a visit over the bridge to Tampa at some point this summer. We will talk with Orhian when his plans are finalized, stay tuned.
