USF Interested in Georgia Corner Back

USFNation has told you about several Georgia prospects that the Bulls are looking at. This time it's a 5'10, 170 pound corner with blazing 4.34 speed. He doesn't have a USF offer yet, but one could be in the works. Find out about this All-County Georgia prospect and why the Bulls are so high on him. Get informed, only on!

Cameron Demps

The USF coaching staff has been successful recruiting the state of Georgia the last few years, and has found quite a few peaches. The Bulls found starters Carlton Hill and Carlton Williams in '05, and Patrick Hampton, Dontavia Bogan, and Lawrence McCoy last year.

This year they are targeting several promising Georgia athletes including Cameron Demps a standout corner back from Peach Tree HS, in Suwannee GA.

At 5'10 and 175 pounds, Demps is being considered as one of the fastest players in the state of Georgia running times of 4.34 and 4.35 in the 40 yard dash.

"I think my speed and play making ability is what separates me."

Demps does have speed, and major play making ability as well, in his junior season he had a county leading 7 interceptions to go with 56 tackles.

"I bring excitement to the game, and I think I'm the best on the field. I don't think anybody can handle me."

His play making ability is just intense during special teams where he recorded 4 blocked kicks, and 4 blocked punts on the season.

"I played cornerback all last year but this year I'm going to play receiver also."

Demps was named Class 5A All-county First team, an All-Region First team. Last year just returned from the elite camp, an invitation only for the top players in the state.

"It was great being at the camp. There were a lot of good players there."

After his impressive junior season and a good showing at the combine, interest in Demps has really picked up.

"Things are going good, right now I have offers from Virginian Tech, Ole Miss, and UNC, South Carolina, Florida and Vanderbilt are close to offering. The rest are waiting for me to go to their camps.

Demps also said that USF is showing interest as well, and has been since last spring.

"The USF coaches came by my practice and talked to my head coach. They just briefly talked to me about me coming in camp, and how they were really interested in me."

"I don't know a lot about the program, but they've been sending me information about the school. And I'm definitely interested in finding more out."

Even though Demps has received interest from the Bulls, and the Bulls seam interested in him, there is yet to be an offer.

"No sir I don't have an USF offer, but they said I'm on their board."

Demps has been busy, already making visits to Tennesse, Virginia tech, Wake Forest, Florida, and Ole Miss, and plans on having an even busier summer.

"Yeah I'll be going to the USF camp, I'm going to be going to a whole a lot of camps this summer, I plan on going to Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Clemson USF and probably a few others."

Demps claims to be pretty wide about what school he may choose but does have several favorites.

"Right now my top five would be Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, UNC, Florida, and Auburn, but I'm also interested in Vanderbilt, Clemson, USF, and UCF."

Does any of the schools stand out as a leader as this point

"None stand out right now they're all about the same."

Demps say's what's most important in what school he chooses is academics, the coaches and football program.

"I'll probably make my decision after the camps and before football season starts. Right now I just want to go out there and play well, and I want us to win the state championship."

Stay tuned with as we have reports from what camps Cameron visits.
