USF Recruiting Roundup

The USF Showcase Camp was two weeks ago, now we update a couple prospects who improved their stock. Here are three updates on key recruits at priority positions, defensive line and corner. Get informed -- Only on!

NG/DT Nick Craig (Carrollton, GA)- Craig was one of the defensive line standouts from the recent Senior Showcase in Tampa. He's a 6'2 285 pound run-stopper from Georgia. He's high on the Bulls recruiting board, but does not currently have a USF offer.

As a junior he had 80 tackles and 10 ½ sacks. Craig said the visit to USF went great and talking with the coaches was the highlight of the day. His recruiter is OC Greg Gregory, but he has built a relationship with Coach Dan McCarney as well. If offered, Nick says the Bulls would be near the top of his list because of his chance to come in and compete for playing time as a freshman.

Look for USF to probably offer Nick Craig in the early half of his senior year. It seems like the staff is sold on him, but they just want to see a little more tape before an offer is extended.

DT Donnell Wilson (Naples, Fl)- Another player who showed up in a big way at the Showcase camp. Wilson impressed the staff and although he wasn't offered yet he has a timetable on when an offer may come. Wilson told USFNation that after his second game he is going to send the coaches his tapes and a decision will be made after that. Only problem for USF is that Auburn also has the same plan for the 6'2 270 pound tackle.

Wilson says that he already has scheduled another visit to Tampa, this time on an official. Besides USF he says he also wants to visit FIU, Ball State and Auburn. Wilson's teammate Anthony Mains, a defensive end, has been offered by USF and the two D-Linemen like the idea of possibly playing next to each other on the same college team.

WR/CB/RB Rashaad Reid (St. Augustine, Fl)- Here is a recruit that the USF staff was absolutely sold on. He performed so well at the showcase camp that the staff offered him two days later.

Reid plans on making a decision within the next few weeks and the Bulls are in the mix for the 5'10 180 pound athlete. It sounds like the team to beat is Georgia Tech, but the fact that USF is in state could be enough to sway him. Coach Douglas has built a strong relationship with Reid who says the two have been communicating consistently since spring practice started.

The Wild Card in this one is teammate and friend Carlton Lewis, who USFNation has already featured. Both have been offered by GT and USF, and they hope to play for the same college team. This is a very big recruiting battle for the Bulls who need to land a stellar cornerback class this year. We will keep you posted as more develops over the next two weeks.
