The high school football season officially starts Friday night, so in an effort to bring you the best recruiting coverage anywhere, USFNation.com has been hitting the road to catch high school games to update how the Bulls local prospects are doing each week. Today we feature three games that featured the top prospects in Pinellas County

Boca Ciega 23, Dunedin 13

Boca Ciega has several prospects but the one most Bulls fans are familiar with is quarterback Orhian Johnson.  However, senior Ja-Vonta Trotter is player to keep an eye on. He scored on the first play of the year, returning the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to spark the Pirates victory over visiting Dunedin. Johnson wasn't as sharp in his home opener against Dunedin, which is considered one of the better teams in the county,. Johnson had a rough time finding time to complete passes and the receivers were dropping balls, He finished 5-of-18 for 44 yards, but threw a 26-yard strike to Darrian Skinner to give the Pirates a 17-6 halftime lead, and got the upset win.

The Boca Ciega defense did the rest and got a strong game from Latavien Washigton had three sacks, and was voted defensive player of the week.  Also Junior Julius Forte had a solid game. He has a good frame with long arms and put pressure on the QB all night and finished with several sacks, and Dunedin's Adaris Bellamy was limited to 34 yards on 12 carries. At times he looked to give up on the play when it was away from him, but was also suffering from cramps.

Senior kicker Randeall Klafter may be one to watch after hitting a 48 yard field goal. He finished 3 for 3 also making kicks of 37 an 36 yards.

Only Johnson has an offer from the Bulls along with about 7 others, and has garnered plenty of interest. He said he likes all the schools that offered him but USF and Ohio State are the most known.

Northeast 40, St. Petersburg 7

Running back Jeff Brinson was the star and ran for a school-record 385 yards and six touchdowns on 26 carries, a 66-yard touchdown on the game's first play and  added touchdown runs of 23, 30, 13, 31 and 2 pt conversion before exiting in the fourth quarter. He had 287 yards and four TDs by halftime, with Northeast up 25-0. He had seven runs of longer than 20 yards, including a 71-yard dash in the second quarter that set up his fourth touchdown. Brinson, a 5-foot-11, 207-pound bruiser has more than 20 Division I scholarship offers. The Bulls seemed to cool on Brinson over the summer, but after nights like this they may take another look. However with all the young RB's on roster, Brinson may opt for somewhere else.

With Northeast's outstanding running game going USF commit LB/QB Armando Sanchez only attempted one pass on the night, but handed the ball off very well. On defense he had 7 total tackles, 4 solo, 3 assisted, 1 pass defended, a pressure, and one BIG hit.

DT/OL Javonte Boyd had a very big night registering 10 total tackles, 4 solo, 6 assisted, 1 Tackle for-a- loss, and 4 quarterback pressures.

Largo 20, Eastlake 0

Bryan Harvey is Largo's workhorse back, in the opener he  rushed for 246 yards on 18 carries and a 70 yard run for a score, to give Largo a 7-0 lead and set the tone in Largo's 20-0 season-opening victory over East Lake. The Bulls don't seem to going after Harvey, but if he keeps churning out games like this they may take another look.

Quarterback/safety Leonard Johnson scored on the ground and in the air, while rushing for 57 yards and throwing for 87 yards, and a 6-yard TD to Reggie McCray to make it 13-0 in route to the shut out.

The Bulls are on Johnson, but his list of offers is getting impressive with 12 offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Iowa, Iowa State, Memphis, West Virginia, South Florida, Troy, Purdue, Illinois, and Indiana.

Other Notables:

Dawrence Roberts rushed 15 times for 195 yards in Countryside's 49, to 7 win over Pinellas Park 7. The Bulls aren't on him, but he is a player to keep an eye on during the season.

Stay tuned as each week we hit the road to catch different high school match ups.
