JUCO WR Commits to Bulls

USF keeps riding the wave of momentum and picks up their 10th commit for the '08 class. Read on for the entire story. Only on USFNation.com -- Get it First, Get it Fast!

The Bulls get their second commit in as many days. This time it's Anthony Jones (6'2, 178), JUCO WR from North East Mississippi Community College. Jones spoke with USFNation in September and described himself as an all-around talent.

"I'm fast and big." Adding, "If they jam me I'm strong enough to get off the ball and then I'm fast enough to run by you."

Jones chose the Bulls over programs such as Illinois, Cal, Rutgers and Nebraska.

"I'm going to USF!" Said an excited Jones on Monday night. "They have been showing me a lot of love and I like what they are doing with their program."

Last season Jones finished with 37 receptions, which was second among Mississippi community college receivers, and had a total of 451 yards and three TDs.

Mid-way through this season Jones has already surpassed all his numbers from last year.

"I have 5 TD's, 534 yards receiving yards and 34 grabs."

Anthony Jones joins a young and talented group of receivers that will provide Matt Grothe with another dangerous weapon. Jones is already looking forward to building a relationship with his new quarterback.

"I'm coming down to see them play Louisville on November 17th, that should be a great game."

Jones went to high school at Rickards in Tallahassee and was a National Top 100 prospect on Scout.com. He had offers from Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Auburn. He committed to Oklahoma State coming out, but didn't make grades.

My Take:
Anthony Jones is the top receiver on the latest USFNation Hot 20 and I said all along it would come down to Nebraska and South Florida. The game against WVU already bagged the Bulls one commit now they have their second. Stay tuned to find out if there is more to come!
