Two weeks ago Kyrhi Thornton told USFNation that there were three schools he was considering. They were Florida, Florida State and South Florida. He had also just picked up offers from NC State and Ole Miss. Now the 6-foot-4, 295 pound Big Man says he's ready to narrow that list down to just two.
"FSU and USF are my top two." Said Thornton who just came off an incredible performance on Friday night. "Last game I had 141 rushing yards, a touchdown, and on defense I had 13 tackles."
Thornton says that this coming weekend he has been invited to attend the Duke/FSU game in Tallahassee.
"FSU has picked up their interest in the last couple weeks, I've talked with their coaches once a week for the past month. I'm going to the game with my teammate Jordon Byas."
Byas is a 6-foot-1, 175 pound DB, who has been offered by Clemson and Ole Miss.
One name who was dropped from Kyrhi's list is Florida, the reason is quite simple.
"They haven't called lately, so I'm done with them. USF and Iowa State probably are calling the most right now, but I don't want to leave Florida."
Thornton plans to take two official visits once his season is over.
"I'm going to USF and FSU. Miami is also a possibility, they have been trying to get me down to a game but it's too far of a drive from the panhandle."
Kyrhi Thornton is one of the typical under-the-radar type kids that the Bulls normally recruit from the panhandle. Just look at their roster, Josh Smiley and George Selvie are starting as sophomore's after nobody else in the state offered them. I don't think Thornton will get an offer this weekend, and it's likely the Noles won't have room for him. I expect him to end up at USF on signing day.
