Northwestern LB will visit Bulls

Sean Spence is one of the top players in the state and a prospect USF has been recruiting since last March. USFNation talked to the 4-star linebacker and has breaking news to report! Read on for the entire story.

Sean Spence from Miami Northwestern has been the number one defensive prospect on the USFNation Hot 20 since the spring evaluation period. Spence, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds brings both size and speed to the playing field. As a junior Spence was a playmaker, recording 160 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 INT, 1 fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown. We told you about a month ago that Spence was working on scheduling a visit with USF, well it looks like a date has been scheduled.

"I will take an official visit to USF at the end of this month." Said Spence, "November 30th is the actual date. Coach (Larry) Scott and I set it up last week."

Spence who is currently a Miami commit has already taken official visits to Tennessee and North Carolina. His third visit will be to South Florida and then he plans to take two more.

"I'm going to Miami sometime in December, I have one more visit left but I don't know where I'll go."

The Bulls staff has been working very hard to get this visit, Spence said there are only two schools that that talks to him every week, USF and UM. Stick with USFNation as we will have an update with Spence after his visit to Tampa.

My Take:
Back in August Spence committed to Miami and said he probably wouldn't take any visits. Things have certainly changed, USF got off to a hot start but then struggled entering the second half of the season. However the losses did not overshadow the victories in recruiting, USF is on the way to landing their best class to date. Getting a visit from a linebacker like Sean Spence shows what major steps this program has taken in recruiting.
