With the season ending on Saturday the Bulls staff is now focused totally on recruiting, until practice starts for their Bowl game. The recruiting season is in full swing and there is some big news to report.
USFNation has already told you that Sean Spence will be making a visit this coming weekend, now we have news that another 4 star prospect will be joining him.
"I set the visit up last week with the coaches from South Florida" Said safety Karnell Hatcher.
Hatcher is one of the top safety prospects in the state of Florida and ranked 14th in the nation at his position. At 6-2, 190 Karnell plays the safety position like a roving linebacker, hitting anything that gets in his path.
"I'm a hard hitter and I can read the quarterbacks eyes really well. I have a lot of range and I'm also very physical."
"This season I worked a lot at my tackling and I feel like I improved on that this year.
His team, Atlantic Delray, made it to the playoffs but lost in their opening game. Now Hatcher says its time to focus on recruiting.
"I set some visits." Adding, "I will be in Tampa this coming weekend, then South Carolina on December 8th, and Auburn on the 15th."
With three visits scheduled, and two already taken (Michigan and LSU) Hatcher will take the maximum 5 allowed. His visit to South Florida may surprise some people because Karnell has never mentioned the Bulls in any prior updates.
"(USF) is new to me as well. I don't know much about them other than they are a program on the rise, but that's why I'm taking the visit – to learn more."
Coach McCarney has been on the 4 Star safety since the spring, but until recently there wasn't much interest from Hatcher who now has the Bulls in his top 5.
"LSU is my favorite right now, then South Carolina, USF, Auburn and probably Michigan at number 5."
A few weeks ago Hatcher made a verbal commitment to LSU, when asked about it Karnell did not elaborate.
"I committed as a soft-verbal."
Stick with USFNation for an update with Karnell Hatcher after his visit to Tampa.
This makes a big weekend even bigger for the Bulls, who are not know for bringing in their top prospects this early in the recruiting process. Hatcher, who is technically committed to LSU still has them as his favorite but the Bulls will have a great opportunity next weekend to gain some ground.
