JUCO LT from Cali getting a visit from USF

The Bulls need a quick fix at offensive tackle next year and Cedric Mack from El Camino Community College could be that guy. Get the latest update on his recruitment, only on USFNation.com!

After South Florida beat Pitt on Saturday the team flew back to Tampa and as soon as the plane landed the staff was out on the recruiting trail. One of their targets is in California. Cedric Mack, offensive tackle for El Camino JUCO says that he will be meeting with a USF coach this Wednesday.

"Coach Canales is coming to my school this week." Adding, "I've never met him, Coach Simmons is the coach I talk to regularly, but my coach told me that Canales would be here this week."

Mack says that since his team was upset in the playoffs his focus has been strictly on school work.

"I've been concentrating everything on my school work, I only have a few weeks left in the semester and I just want to finish."

After this semester Mack says he is transferring to a different junior college back in Florida.

"I'm going back to Dade County in a few weeks. I'll take one semester at a JUCO there and be done in April."

The school he plans to transfer to does not have athletics and he said the decision is based on finances, it's much more expensive to live in California than back at home in Florida.

As for recruiting Mack says that he it narrowed down to three.

"Oregon State, South Florida and Iowa State are the schools I'm looking at." "Last Friday Coach Rogers from Iowa State came by. I talk with their coaches a lot so it was good to see Coach Rogers."

Mack says his only visit set right now is USF for the 11th of January, besides that an Oregon State visit could be on the horizon.

"My coach tells me they are working on setting up a visit. I'm not sure when it will be, probably sometime in January."

The 6-3, 340 pound tackle has 3 years to play 2 and says playing time is key for him.

"The schools all tell me about their depth chart. I know at South Florida, coach Leavitt wants me to come in and replace Walter Walker at right tackle."

Mack intends to take at least two more visits and make a decision some time in January. Stick with USFNation as we follow the Big Man over the next two months.
