This year the pickings are slim at the cornerback position. South Florida only has two main targets, one of which will be making an official visit to Tampa this weekend.

John Lejiste from Atlantic in Delray Beach, Florida will be taking his second official visit this weekend.

"I set the visit about two weeks ago." Adding, "USF offered me back in the summer, but they really picked up their interest the last month or so."

Besides USF Lejiste has offers from Rutgers, Kentucky, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

"The weekend after I go to Tampa I'll be taking my third official visit and that will be to Kentucky."

Back in September Lejiste took his first visit to Wisconsin, he said he had a great time and enjoyed the entire trip.

This season Lejiste was a force in the Atlantic secondary, he and teammate Karnell Hatcher, who will also be visiting the Bulls this weekend, were rarely tested.

"Teams didn't really throw in our direction."

"I had 2 INT's, a whole bunch of tackles, a whole bunch of forced fumbles, and a fumble return for a TD."

Lejiste is also getting it done in the classroom with a 3.4 GPA and a 990 SAT score, he is already fully eligible according to NCAA standards. When choosing a school, academics will be at the top of his priority list.

"I'm looking for a few things when choosing a school. Academics, team unity, coaching and facilities. I will factor them all into my decision."

Speaking of decisions, could one be made this weekend?

"I've always said that I'm going to commit when I get ‘that' feeling. If I feel it at USF then I'm not afraid to pull the trigger."

My Take:
John Lejiste is right there at the top of the board with Brandon Harris at the cornerback position. He's got the height and size (6-0, 190) to be a lock down corner on the next level. I like his swagger, which is a must when you're out on an island playing CB in Coach Burnham's system.
