The Bulls have gotten back into the recruiting game this week with a commitment from cornerback John Lejiste from Atlantic Delray Beach high school.

"I've always said that I'm going to commit when I get ‘that' feeling", said Lejiste. ‘If I feel it at USF then I'm not afraid to pull the trigger."

With starting senior corners Mike Jenkins and Trae Williams, and back up Ryan Gilliam graduating this year, the Bulls are looking to restock the secondary. This weekend one of their top corner prospects Lejiste came to Tampa for an official visit to USF.

"I set the visit about two weeks ago." Adding, "USF offered me back in the summer, but they really picked up their interest the last month or so."

Lejiste, 6'0, 195 pounds, took an official visit to Tampa, then after discussion with his family decided Tuesday to make USF his choice to play college ball, choosing USF over offers from Rutgers, Kentucky, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

"Academics, team unity, coaching and facilities, all factored into my decision."

This season Lejiste was a force in the Atlantic secondary, he and teammate Karnell Hatcher, who also visited the Bulls this weekend, were rarely tested.

"Teams didn't really throw in our direction." "I had 2 INT's, a whole bunch of tackles, a whole bunch of forced fumbles, and a fumble return for a TD."

Lejiste has got it done in the classroom with a 3.4 GPA and a 990 SAT score, he is already fully eligible according to NCAA standards.

Stay tuned for a full interview with Lejiste shortly.

My Take: John Lejiste was right there at the top of the board at the cornerback position. He's got the height and size (6-0, 190) to be a lock down corner on the next level. His commitment could be just the start of restocking the Bulls secondary.
