With Northwestern headed to defend their championship next weekend in Orlando Tommy Streeter says it's back to basics this week.
"I'm going to get to practice early everyday this week. I'll be working cone drills, all the basics. Fundamentals are what make you great."
In Northwestern's semi-final victory, Streeter had his only catch called back.
"I don't know what happen. All I know is I caught a short out-route from Jacory (Harris) and turned it into an 80 yard score. I think they called holding or something."
On Wednesday Streeter received an in-home visit from Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti.
"The visit I had last weekend was great. Oregon really impressed me. Then Coach Bellotti came to one of my practices and made a visit to my house on Wednesday."
"He was there for about an hour-and-a-half. I didn't really talk to him, he met with my parents while I was in my room doing homework."
Streeter says he also received an in-home visit from South Florida coach Larry Scott.
"Coach Scott came in and talked with my whole family. My parents liked the visit, he talked a lot about academics. They like him as a coach and a person. It's hard to explain…he basically assured my parents he would personally be the one to watch after me and guide me at South Florida. We also talked about my visit and finalized all that stuff."
There are a handful of teams that Tommy is looking at right now and after the season he plans to narrow it down.
"Oregon, USF, South Carolina, UM, BC, U Conn and FSU are all in the picture."
"I'd say South Carolina and South Florida are the two teams recruiting me the hardest and the two teams I talk to the most."
"Texas Tech has been calling me lately also. They haven't offered, but they know how to throw that ball around!"
Streeter's visit to South Florida is on January 11th, we'll have more on him as his visit approaches. Stick with USFNaiton.com for the latest recruiting scoop.
Streeter has developed a great relationship with Coach Larry Scott, he's been recruiting him as hard as anyone in the nation since early spring. It seems to be paying off and I like the Bulls chances heading down the stretch.
