JUCO LB: "USF is the only place I want to be"

After a couple weeks of speculation and a visit to Lousiville, 4-Star LB Kion Wilson tells USFNation he plans on making it official on Wednesday and sign his LOI to play for the Bulls. Read on for the entire story.

"I'm going to drive down to Tampa tomorrow and probably sign my LOI around 3pm."

On Wednesday Kion Wilson will officially be back playing football in the state of Florida. After graduating from Jacksonville Raines High School Kion moved to Mississippi where he spent the last two years attending school and playing football at Pearl River. The 6-foot-2, 235 pound middle linebacker says he's ready to start a new chapter of his life.

"I feel relieved and accomplished." Wilson added, "It's a relief to be out of that place and moving on."

"I'm proud of what I did while I was there though. I am the first person in my family to graduate from any sort of college, and I have 6 brothers and sisters. It feels good, I'm ready to move on."

This past season Kion has recorded 98 tackles, 7 TFL's, 1 sack, and 2 forced fumbles. In 2006 as a freshman, he racked up 117 tackles, 2 INT's, 6 sacks and a defensive touchdown.

"There will be no surprises, I'm ready to sign with South Florida."

"I only took the trip to Louisville because I was advised by my coaches to take that visit and make sure USF is where I want to be."

Was there a offer out there that Wilson would have liked to get?

"I can honestly say there is not another team in the country I would rather play for. USF is the only place I want to be."

"It's perfect. Its perfect for me, my family, I mean look at the roster, everyone is young. They only graduate three on defense and one of them is at the position I play (Ben Moffitt)."

If all goes as planned, Kion will drive from Jacksonville to Tampa tomorrow. He says if he gets in late he'll sign on Thursday.

My Take:
We told you all along Kion would stick to his commitment, but you never know until its time to put the pen to paper. Bulls fans should get excited about this one.
