Scouting the Bulls Offensive Linemen

USF offensive line has battled injuries and depth issues all season, yet helped lead the way for a Bulls offense that has set offensive records in points scored (430 )and gained more yards (5,059). than any team in program history.

Junior tackle Marc Dile 6'4 304 pounds, has started 14 straight games with all but two at left tackle. Dile was graded at  73% with  80 Knockdowns.

Dile was a 2-star out of Miami Edison HS, FL, played in Florida-California All-Star Game, and was Honorable mention all-Dade County in Miami

Junior guard Ryan Schmidt 6'4-327pounds, has started all but 1 game at left guard and was named All-Big East second team. Has 19 career starts and Schmidt was graded at 66% with 64 Knockdowns.

Schmidt transferred from Kansas State, and was a 2-star recruit from Boca Raton HS, FL

Junior Center/Tackle Jake Griffin 6'4-307 pounds, started all 12 games this season. Started at left guard in opener then switched to center when Capoga was injured.  Griffin was graded at 76% with 59 Knockdowns.

Griffin was a 3-sar recruit out of Armwood HS, FL, and was ranked #89 at the position. Also named fourth best offensive guard prospect in state by Florida Times Union, all-Suncoast team, Named top offensive lineman in Hillsborough County

Red shirt freshman Zach Hermann 6'3-313 pounds, started all 12 games this season at right guard. Hermann was graded at 72% with 70 Knockdowns.

Hermann was a 2-sar recruit out of Eastlake HS, FL, was First team all-county, named all-Suncoast, and all-district..

Senior tackle Walter Walker 6'5-333 pounds, started in 10 games this season. was injured against Rutgers and missed the following two games.  Walter was graded at  69% with 36 Knockdowns.

Walker was a 2-star out of South Plantation HS, FL, and was Class 5A all-state third team. Was also Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel all-county team choice, All-Broward County second team and Broward County "Top 20" by Miami Herald. also played in the Dade-Broward and the Broward County all-star games.


Senior tackle Jared Carnes 6'7-307 pounds, started two games at tackle when Walker was injured graded at 70% with 33 Knockdowns.
A transfer from Division II Concord College in West Virginia in 2004, attended Saint Petersburg Catholic HS, FL
Senior center Nick Capogna 6'3-265 pounds,  injured his knee in the home opener after started all of 2006. Was graded at 71% with 14 Knockdowns.
2-star prospect from Clearwater Central Catholic, FL,  was Class 2A second team all-state as an offensive lineman,
Junior Matt Huners 6'2-290 pounds, inured knee in spring game after starting final 10 games of '06. Was graded at 85% with 6 Knockdown
Was a 2-star prospect from Palm Harbor HS, FL. Was First team all-county and honorable mention all-Suncoast.
True freshman Sampson Genus 6'1-308 pounds, was graded at 61% with 5 Knockdowns
Was a 2-star recruit out of Columbia HS, FL, and ranked 32 at the center position.
Redshirt freshman tackle Jacob Sims 6'5-270, was graded at 64%.
Walk-on from Winter Park HS and was Class 6A third team all-state in 2005

Scouting the Ducks O-linemen

The Ducks passed for over 2,600 yards with 22 receiving scores, and rushed for 2,926 yards with 31 scores on the season.

Junior tackle Fenuki Tupou 6'6-322 pounds, started 10 games for the Ducks at left tackle.

Tupou was a 4-star recruit out of Sierra Junior College. Attended Center HS, CA.

Senior Guard Josh Tschirgi 6'4-311 pounds, started eight games at left guard including the last seven with 29 career starts.

Tschirgi was a 2-star prospect out of  Skyview HS, WA, and was ranked #117 at the position.

Junior Center Max Unger 6'5-300 pounds, Started all 11 games for the Ducks and has 35 career starts. Unger is an athletic, versatile lineman, is quick off the snap, stays square, hass long arms and strong hands with quick feet and is an effective pass and run blocker.

Unger was a 2-star recruit coming out of Hawaii Preparatory HS, HA, and was ranked # 125 at the position

Junior Guard Mark Lewis 6'4-308 pounds, Started all 11 games for the Ducks and has 35 career starts..

Lewis was a 2-star prospect coming out of Arroyo HS, CA.

Senior Geoff Schwartz 6'7-337 pounds, Started all 11 games for the Ducks and has 33 career starts.

Schwartz was a 3-star prospect out of Palisades Charter HS, CA, and was ranked #88 at the position.



Junior tackle Jacob Hucko 6'7-317 pounds, started one game this season and has two career starts
3-star prospect out of Cerritos HS, CA and was ranked # 54 at the position
Senior Guard Pat So'oalo 6'5-332 pounds, started 3 games for the Ducks in 2007
3-star prospect out of Kailua HS, HI and was ranked # 64 at the position
Redshirt freshman Jordan Holmes 6'4-290 pounds, is back up for both center and guard
Was a 2-star prospect out of Yuba City HS, CA
Redshirt freshman C.E. Kaiser 6'4-295 pounds, is back up for both center and guard
Was a 2-star prospect out of Central Valley HS, WA
Junior Guard John Teague 6'4-301 pounds, is back up guard out of David Douglas HS, OR
