"I had a good visit" said Martavious Odoms, "I liked the coaches, they made me feel comfortable. I was with coach Scott a lot, but I also had a chance to meet with the rest of the staff."
This weekend the 5'8, 175 pound wide-out from Pahokee was hosted by Bulls receiver Jesse Hester.
"I've known Jesse for a while, we hungout. It was a good time."
"Last night he took me to a party that Jerome Murphy put on. It was cool, I met a lot of the guys on the team there."
Odoms recently told USFNation that a main factor in his decision will be finding a school that can surround him with positive influences. He says Tampa could be that place.
"I knew Tampa was a good town, but after visiting for the weekend I got a better feel. It has a positive atmosphere. I didn't see any violence, nothing. They made me feel comfortable and I got along with everyone on the team."
The staff at South Florida has been recruiting Martavious since he was a freshman. Before leaving to head home today, Coach Leavitt brought that up.
"During my final meeting with Coach Leavitt he said he's been watching me since 9th grade and knows I could contribute at USF."
"They want me real bad. He said I would play slot receiver and also return punts and kicks."
Odoms said he could compete at kick/punt return as a freshman, but that is not the most important factor in his decision.
"I'm going to take all my visits before I decide. This was my second visit, it was good, I give it a 9. It was a really fun trip, my favorite part was just meeting with the coaches and the other recruits. I already knew a bunch of them (the recruits), so it was cool to have some friends there."
It is clear that Martavious will take all his visits and talk it over with family before making his final choice. In the following weeks he will visit Tennessee, Miami and Iowa. Stick with USFNation as we follow Odoms through signing day.
