Last weekend Quavon Taylor missed his Tennessee visit due to family issues, this weekend he was in Tampa to visit South Florida. Taylor has been recruited heavily by the Bulls staff since early-fall, and this was his first chance to really see what the Bulls have to offer.
"I had a great visit." Said Taylor, "It was amazing. I really liked the family atmosphere over there."
What really impressed the 6-foot, 185 pound linebacker was the slowed down pace that Tampa has compared to Miami.
"I liked Tampa a lot, the people there are really relaxed and it's a nice change from what I'm used to in Miami."
This weekend, USF tight end Cedric Hill played host and showed Quavon around.
"We went to a couple spots, it was fun. Cedric is a real cool dude."
"It was fun just interacting with the players and the people around town."
Taylor also had a chance to meet with some of the coaches that have been recruiting him, like Coach Larry Scott and Head Coach Jim Leavitt.
"The coaches were great. I sat down with Coach Leavitt and he told me he really liked the way I play and how I run."
The Bulls are looking at Taylor as both a linebacker and a strong safety, Taylor says he's able to play either position if needed.
No decision came this weekend, but Quavon says the visit will give him a lot to think about.
"I could see myself playing there (USF). My mom is loving USF right now, but she says it's my decision and she'll support any decision I make. I'm going to pray on it, I could know soon."
Right now Taylor says there are three teams in the mix, Tennessee, USF and FIU are the likely destinations for the hard-hitting linebacker. He says the visit to Tennessee has been rescheduled for February second and he might set a visit to Ole Miss for this weekend.
"Overall I would rate my visit to USF a 10. I could see myself playing there."
"My favorite part was touring the facilities and meeting the players. It was also my first time to Raymond James Stadium. I walked out on the field and just said ‘Wow.'"
Tonight Taylor plays in the annual Dade/Broward game. Stick with USFNation.com for the latest on linebacker Quavon Taylor.
