Landi ready to start his career at USF

ATH Evan Landi talks to USFNation about his recent visit to South Florida, what schools are still recruiting him and his efforts in turning his fellow Coral Springs buddies into USF fans. Read on for the entire story.

Since committing to USF back in November Evan Landi has enjoyed the final months of his recruitment. He says that he made his choice early and is glad that teams backed off after his announcement that he would sign with the Bulls in February.

"Some teams still call, but everything goes through my coach and I don't have to deal with it."

"Ever since I committed to USF I knew that's where I wanted to go. It will be good to finally be able to put it down on paper."

This weekend Landi made his official visit to South Florida. He was hosted by Danny Verpaele.

"I went on the tour, saw where I would take classes. Then I went around to the dorm rooms and met a bunch of the players."

On Saturday night all the recruits were taken to Busch Gardens to attend the Bulls' annual Awards Banquet.

"The highlights were fun to watch and I can't wait to be apart of the team next year."

Overall, Landi says his favorite part of the trip was simply meeting the players and spending time getting to know them.

"Talking with the guys was the best part for me."

Since football season has ended Evan Landi has been playing basketball and turning his Coral Springs buddies into Bulls fans.

"That's funny you ask!" Landi added, "Just today I had a teacher ask me if I knew what number I was going to wear so they could go out and make USF jerseys."

"It's pretty cool because most people are Miami and FSU fans around here. It's okay, they'll turn into USF fans soon."

Landi, 6'4, 200 pounds says that his goal for the offseason is to gain 10 pounds and get his 40 time down from 4.7-4.8 to the 4.6 range. He's also going to finish strong in the classroom. He's currently fully qualified with a 4.0 GPA.
