In a crazy turn of events USF have just received a LOI from Belle Glades Central standout two-way lineman Jatavious Jackson, one of the states top prospects last year.

After his senior season in 2006, the 3-star prospect was rated the #43 prospect at the guard position, and was one of the top recruits on the Bulls board.

"I feel like USF is a good fit for me," said Jackson.

Jackson 6'4-280 pounds, had offers from Clemson, FSU, Ole Miss, West Virginia and USF. Both Clemson and LSU offered him as a defensive lineman, and the rest offered him on the offensive side of the ball. He originally signed with FSU after the 2006 season, but ended up not being on the 2007 roster.

"I enrolled in the summer session, but had a clearinghouse issue and had to take a class over."

The two-way standout that runs a 5.53 40-yard dash and has a 21.5" vertical was a FSWAA 2006 All-State third team, and was named the 46th-best senior in the state by the Orlando Sentinel, and could play offensive line or defensive tackle at the next level.

"I can either play defensive tackle or offensive tackle. I'm not sure which I'll play just yet."

Jackson said he is now fully qualified and ready to get back on the field.

"I'm ready to start the next chapter."

Jatavious was in the process of filling out paper work when we spoke, and had to cut the conversation short, but will get back in touch with me this afternoon. In the meantime you can check out his vids.
