A 3-star dual threat quarterback. ranks him the 44th best quarterback in the country. Earned All Big Bend Player of the Year 2007. Voted Tallahassee QB club player of the year 2007, All state first team. One of the top 75 players in the state of Florida, and ranked 8th in the country for dual threat QBs. Set Lincoln HS record with 34 passing TD's, 2,500 passing, 972 rushing and 12 rushing TD's, and was  2007 team captain and 2007 team MVP. As a Junior was Off. MVP 2006, and Honorable mention all big bend 2006 (Tallahassee). As a sophomore he was named Off. MVP 2005. Also lettered in basketball (4 years). 2007 MVP and team captain in basketball and led Lincoln HS team with 193 steals. Honorable mention Big Bend in basketball. chose USF over Michigan & Memphis.

2-star prospect ranked the 107th best quarterback prospect in the country by  An Outstanding two-way athlete that can excel on either side of the ball. Will get look at quarterback and defensive back. Threw for 11 touchdowns and scored four times on the ground during senior season and was Class 2A First Team All-State as a defensive back with three interceptions and 60 tackles as safety. As a junior Landi was named All-Broward County second team offense after he threw for 1352 yards, with 10 TD while rushing 22 times for 124 yards and 4 TD. Also had two interceptions in limited play on defense as a junior. Runs a 4.7 40-yard dash and has a 32-inch vertical. A versatile athlete, also played wide receiver, safety and punter. Multi-sport talent is an accomplished athlete in basketball, hockey, baseball, and holds a 4.0 GPA. Chose USF over Wisconsin and South Carolina.


Demetrius Murray, Running Back, 5-10, 207

A 3-star recruit ranked the 67th best running back in the country by was one of the top running backs in Georgia. Was the Georgia 2A State Player of the Year, and helped Buford to an undefeated record and a Georgia 2A state championship title rushing for 203 yards and 1 TD on 15 carries in the final. As a junior, had 143 rushing attempts for 1,090 yards, averaging 7.6 yards per carry with 20 touchdowns. A perfect blend of power and speed, Murray runs the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds and has the ability to beat linebackers to the corner or run between the tackles. Was the only running back selected and could be the gem of the '08 class. Chose USF over Wake Forest, Ole Miss and Maryland.

Wide Receiver:

A 3-star recruit ranked the 119 best receiver in the country by One of the top receivers in Florida, had 28 receptions  for 500 yards and 4 TD's and added 25 rushes for 290 yards with 3 rushing TD's. Named team captain 2007 and Team MVP 2007. Earned Chiles Athlete of the Year 2007, Second All Big Bend (Tallahassee), and Best Chiles Receiver (2006, 2007). Four year letter winner in football, also lettered in track. Chose USF over Ole Miss, Rutgers and others.

Tight End:

Jeff Hawkins, Tight End, 6-4, 232, Vanguard HS/Ocala, Fl

A 3-star prospect ranked as 35th best tight end in the country by, and the first player to commit in the 2008 class.  One of the state's top tight end prospects, ranked as the 48th best tight end by  Hawkins was under used in the Vanguard offense his senior season, but still finished with 12 catches for 221 yards (18 yards per catch) with 22 pancakes. While playing only part time on defense Hawkins was a force, recording 4 sacks, 14 TFLs, 51 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 recovered fumble. Team captain as a junior and senior. 13 catches for 195 yards and one touchdown as junior, and played defensive end and had 14 tackles and one interception. Also wrestled and competed in track. Hawkins has  size, speed, and soft hands, something the Bulls have been looking for in the position An early USF commit, chose USF over UCF, but had plenty of interest from UM, FSU, and UF.

Andreas Shields, Tight End,6-6, 200, Wharton HS/Tampa, Fl. (Will take a Grey shirt)

A 2-star recruit rated 63rd best tight end in the country by Ranked 16th best player in Tampa/St. Pete area by the St. Pete Times, First team all-conference (2007), and Honorable mention All-State. Also plays basketball for Wharton HS. Chose USF over FAU and FIU.

Offensive Line:

Mark Popek,
Offensive Lineman, 6'7-310, Plant City HS/Plant City, FL

3-star mammoth offensive lineman who was rated the 83rd best offensive tackle in the country by Named 5A second team all-state, and ranked 12th best player in Tampa/St. Pete area by the St. Pete Times. One of the top two-way linemen in the Tampa area, Popek really emerged as a senior. He played at 6-5 and 230 as a junior before putting together a great senior year at a much bigger size. Popek also, paved the way for two backs that combined for more than 1,400 yards, and was named All-Hillsborough first team Chose USF over Illinois and Vanderbilt. 

Josh Garvin, Offensive Tackle, 6-4, 276, Lake Gibson HS/Lakeland, FL

A two-star prospect ranked as 97th best offensive tackle in the country Named 5A second team all-state, first-team all-district and all-county in 2007. Participated in the FACA North/South game in 2008. Garvin, is  strong, athletic, and can move. He's quick enough to play tackle, but is being recruited as a guard. Also lettered in track (2 yrs.) and weightlifting (1 yr.) Chose USF over Baylor and North Carolina, and received interest from Alabama, Florida State and North Carolina.

3-star recruit ranked as the 43rd best offensive guard prospect nationally by in 2006. Talented prospect capable of playing on the offensive or defensive line. Three-time all-state selection and two-time first team all-county choice. Named 46th-best player in the state by the Orlando Sentinel as a senior. Recorded nine sacks and 25 tackles for loss as a senior. Originally signed with Florida State as part of the 2007 class, but had clearing house issues. Chose USF over offers from Florida State, Clemson, Ole Miss and West Virginia. 

Danous Estenar, Offensive Line & Defensive Line, 6-3, 305
Palm Beach Central HS/Wellington, Fl

2-star prospect ranked the 81 best guard in the country by Listed among of the top 100 lineman in the country. Named FACA Class 6A third team all-state, Palm Beach Post All-Area second team, and First team all-conference (2006, 2007). Played in the annual FACA All Star game. Is a raw lineman with power to spare, and could be the steal of class. Three year starter at offensive tackle for Palm Beach Central, and graded out at 87 percent after his senior season. Blocked for running back David Ahola, who led the county in rushing. Dropped 40-plus pounds prior to senior season to play both ways, and will get look on both sides of the line with USF. Also an accomplished basketball player. Maintained a 3.0 GPA throughout high school career, and is of Haitian decent. Chose USF over UCF and received plenty of other interest.

Damien Edwards Offensive Tackle, 6-6, 320, Chandler HS, Chandler AZ

A two-star prospect Mammoth offensive lineman with a tremendous potential and considered a sleeper. Spent first three years of high school at Mesquite before transferring to Chandler High School and coached by Jim Ewan. Chandler has produced NFL players Terrell Suggs and Adam Archuleta. Played basketball until his sophomore year.  Father, Earl, played 11 years in the NFL as a defensive lineman with the 49ers, Bills, Browns and Packers. Father attended Blake High School in Tampa and is a member of the Tampa Sports Hall of Fame. Chose USF over Northern Arizona and interest from Fresno St., Oregon and Colorado State. 


Defensive Line:

David Bedford,
Defensive End, 6-5, 240, Independence Community College/ Kansas, Palm Beach Lakes HS/Palm Beach Lakes, Fl

4-star prospect by was one of the more sought after D-ends in the country. After redshirting at Independence in '06, had a monster year in 2007, recording 13 ½ sacks (school record) and 15 tackles for loss among his 63 tackles overall. Had a total of 15 tackles for loss and also forced three fumbles, recovered three fumbles, and batted down four passes. Originally signed with Louisville out of high school, but never made it, and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Bedford was a key signing for the Bulls in '08, and will give them a force opposite of George Selvie. Chose USF over Miami, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, West Virginia and Oklahoma State..

Craig Marshall, Defensive End, 6-5, 260, Pearl River Community College/Poplarville, Miss. Choctawhatchee HS/Fort Walton Beach, Fl

3-star prospect by, finished year with 41 tackles, 4.5 TFL's, 3.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and an interception. Originally signed with USF out of high school and was ranked 79th at his position in nation, and the 96th best player in Florida by He was named All-area as a sophomore, junior and senior. He was also All-Northwest Florida, and named to Ft. Walton Beach Dandy Dozen Team. Redshirted is first season at Pearl River and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Donnel Engram, Defensive End, 6-2-255, Tarpon Springs HS/Tarpon Springs, Fl

2-star prospect rated the 111 best end in the country by, and was was named to the Scout .com All-Combine team in Miami. Ranked 19th best player in Tampa/St. Pete area by the St. Pete Times. Was named defensive MVP of the Pinellas County All-Star Game and also played in the Florida North-South All-Star Game. Was one of the most productive defensive players in Pinellas County the past two seasons. As a senior, had 12 sacks, 78 tackles, including 11 for loss, and forced six fumbles. As a junior Had 15 sacks and 80 tackles, including 10 for loss as a junior. Chose USF over Indiana, Ole Miss, & UCF, among others.

Cory Grissom, Defensive Tackle, 6-2-275, Troup County HS, LaGrange, GA

3-star prospect rated the 66th best defensive tackle in the country by Named all-region 2007, and won team award for best defensive lineman in 2007. Had 13 sacks, 5 forced fumble and two fumble recovery as a senior. Committed to USF after coming down to Tampa for the West Virginia game. Tremendous burst off the ball and overall quickness. Was a three-year football letter winner, also lettered in wrestling (2yrs.) Full first name is Ticory. Chose USF over Arkansas, North Carolina and Southern Miss.


Kion Wilson,
Linebacker, 6-2-235, Pearl River Community College/Poplarville, Miss, Raines HS, Jacksonville, FL

4-star prospect by and one of the top linebacker prospects in the JUCO ranks. Had 98 tackles, seven tackles for loss and one sack during in nine games as a sophomore at Pearl River. Also had an outstanding freshmen season, accounting for 117 tackles, two interceptions and six sacks, and was named to the NJCAA All-American squad. Prepped at Jacksonville Raines, where he was an All-State HM pick as a senior. He runs a 4.5 40 and has great instincts. Was a spring enrollee and should contribute immediately. Originally committed to Illinois, but failed to qualify. Chose USF over Miami, Louisville, UCF, among others.

Armando Sanchez, Linebacker, 6-1, 210, Northeast HS, St. Petersburg, FL.

2-star prospect ranked the 57th best weakside linebacker in the country by Ranked 15th best player in Tampa/St. Pete area by the St. Pete Times. An outstanding two-way athlete who played quarterback and safety at Northeast HS and projects as an outside linebacker in college. Was named All-Pinellas County First team as a linebacker and had Over 100 tackles as a senior. As a Junior, earned second-team all-county honors from the Times after leading the Vikings with 122 tackles. Also competed in track and threw the shot 53 feet as a junior.

Mike Lanaris, Linebacker, 6-0, 237, Lake Mary HS/Lake Mary, Fl

2-star prospect ranked the 65th best strongside linebacker in the country by Earned all-conference, all-county and defensive MVP honors at Lake Mary after he recorded 104 tackles, 9 for a loss, 3 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. He was also named a First Team Linebacker for the 2007 all FNL team, and played in the Central Florida High School All-Star Football Game.  As a Junior, Lanaris was named First Team all-County after he recorded 122 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 forced fumbles and one interception that he returned for a touchdown. He was also team captain and was voted the Defensive Player of the Year by his teammates. In his sophomore season, Lanaris recorded 65 tackles and four sacks. He also runs a 4.61 40.  Also lettered in baseball (3 yrs.), and Member of the honor roll. Chose USF over UCF, Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Louisville.

3-star prospect ranked the 70th best in the county by Rated the 78th best player in the state by the Orlando Sentinel. Helped lead Northwestern to a 15-0 record and claimed the USA Today's national title, beating Orlando Boone 41-0 for second consecutive 6A state title, registering10 tackles and 2 forced fumbles in the game. Named 6A first team all-state, after recording 127 tackles, nine sacks with one interception, and led the team the last two years. Played linebacker in high school but will enter USF as a safety. Hard hitter and has a good combination of speed, athleticism, playmaking ability, and is an absolute steal for the Bulls. Chose USF over Tennessee, Mississippi and Memphis among his 13 offers..

George Baker, Cornerback, 5-11, 170,

3-star prospect rated as the 47th cornerback in the country by One of the most explosive players in the state and is also considered one of the fastest, running a 4.37-40 yard dash and posting a 39" vertical. He was named Class 6A First team on defense and All-Dade County (2006, 2007). This season he wasn't tested much, but had 40 tackles and three interceptions, and on offense had 1,643 yards on 209 carries with 19 touchdowns, and had two kick off returns for TD. Also played at running back and as a junior had 93 carries for 1010 yards and 10 TD's. Could contribute early on return teams. Chose USF over Auburn, Miami and Rutgers.

Theo Wilson, Defensive Back, 6-0, 200, Pearl River Community College/Poplarville, MI, Dunedin HS/Dunedin, Fl

3-star prospect by Former high school star before spending his first year at Southwest Mississippi Community College before transferring to Pearl River. Versatile player who can play quarterback, wide receiver or defensive back. The multi-dimensional Wilson finished the season with 265 passing yards with 2 TD, 153 rushing yards with 4 Ts, and 120 receiving yards and a score  Was an outstanding player at at Dunedin High school,  racing up 6,000 all-purpose yards from 2003-05
as a senior in he passed for 1,434 yards and 16 touchdowns, while rushing for 783 yards and 10 touchdowns Named all-county in both 2005 & '06. Was also part of Dunedin's 2005 district championship team. Didn't graduate until going back in 2006. Also lettered in track (2 yrs.) and baseball (1 yr.)

John Lejiste, Defensive back, 6-0-178,
Atlantic Community HS/Delray Beach, Fla.

2-star prospect ranked the 111th best defensive back in the county by Hard hitting safety that played for the one for the top high school programs in the state, but wasn't tested much. "Teams didn't really throw in our direction. I had 2 INT's, a whole bunch of tackles, a whole bunch of forced fumbles, and a fumble return for a TD." As a junior, he racked up 55 tackles and 2 interceptions. Earned First team all-district, Second team all-county, Pre-season top 100 in Florida, and made the ESPN national safety list. Versatile athlete that could play corner or safety. Four year letter winner, and competed in track where he has high jumped six feet, four inches, and has a 3.2 GPA.Chose USF over West Virgina, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Kentucky and UCF.

Special Teams

Justin Brockhaus-Kann,
Punter, 6-3, 235, Winter Springs HS/Winter Springs, Fla.

2-star prospect and the top punter in the state by 6A First team all-state, all-county, and all-conference as punter and tight end. Central Florida all star, and One-on-One National Punting Champion. Averaged 46 yards a punt, and 4.6 seconds of hang time, Booted a 62 yard punt that had a hang time of 5.1 seconds in the Winter Springs All-Star game. Versatile athlete, started at four positions throughout high school (kicker, punter, offensive line and tight end). Father is Jeff Brockhaus, a former NFL and USFL kicker and punter that played for the San Francisco 49ers, and the Jacksonville Bulls and Orlando Limited of the USFL His father was also teammates with USF head coach Jim Leavitt at the University of Missouri and still holds the MU record for longest punt, which was an 82-yarder against Kansas State on 10-25-80.

Maikon Bonani,
Kicker/Punter, 5'9-170, Lake Wales HS/Lake Wales, Fl

2-star prospect by and one of the top kickers in the state. 3A first team all-state place-kicker as a junior and second team as a senior as well as all-state punter his senior year. Had a career long 55 yd. kick his junior season. Versatile athlete, Lettered in tennis (3 yrs.) and soccer (4 yrs.).Was named Male Athlete of the Year in 2007 by the Lakeland Ledger.Chose USF over UCF and FSU.
