Bulls Get Second Commitment for '09!

USF landed their second commitment for the '09 class today. Find out who it is and why he chose the South Florida Bulls. Only on USFNation.com!

This weekend New Level and Scout.com held a 7-on-7 tournament on the intramural fields at South Florida, although the Bulls staff was not allowed to participate due to NCAA regulations, the impact of hosting the tournament was enough to get one recruit to commit.

Dwayne Difton from St. Thomas Aquinas is the second prospect to verbally commit toward the 2009 class. The 6-foot-1, 180 pound wide-out is one of the top wide receiver prospects in South Florida this year, Difton finished his regular junior season with 17 catches for 264 yards and two touchdowns and helped lead his team to the Class 5A state championship game.

"I just gave USF a hard commit." Difton added, "I feel that's where I belong. I like their spread offense and how they run 5 wide sets."

Another factor in his decision was the coaching staff.

"They treat me great and I call Coach (Larry) Scott every weekend."

The final thing Difton needed to see was the campus and the city and this weekends tournament gave him that opportunity.

"When I came in and saw the campus and the city I knew it was a perfect fit. I'm familiar with a big city, it reminds me a lot of Fort Lauderdale. I'm really excited. Coach Scott was excited too, he told me he was going to tell all the coaches tomorrow morning."

On the field Dwayne is as smooth as they come, he's quick and catches everything out in front of his body with his hands.

"I'm hungry for the ball. Once it's in the air I'm gonna go get it!"

Besides USF Difton also had offers from Big East foe Syracuse and Troy.

"I feel real good about my decision, I'm set. Now I'm going to start following South Florida through the next season. I know this is a good decision because it's close to home and my parents will be able to see me play."
