Ohio State & USF Lead for Plantation Safety

It's a sign that the times are changing, the Bulls are battling the Buckeyes for one of the top DB prospects in Florida. Find out when USF offered and what USF coach he calls "the real deal". Only on USFNation.com!

The Bulls are used to battling Big East opponents and instate programs for recruits, but when it comes to Vladimir Emilien, the Bulls are competing with the runner-up to the National Title, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

All together Emilien has 7 offers, but he's ready to name favorites.

"Right now Ohio State is number one and USF is number two, followed by Minnesota"

On Wednesday the Bulls extended him an offer as a Safety/corner.

"Coach Scott is recruiting me." Vladimir added, "I think he's the real deal, Coach Scott told me straight up he thinks I can come in here and play and I feel like I could come to South Florida and be a star. He's down to earth and I can talk to him about anything."

At 6-foot, 198 pounds Emilien would most likely be recruited as a safety by the Bulls. He runs in the 4.5 range and has good enough cover skills to play corner, but his biggest strength is his tackling. Vlad has earned the nickname "Hit Man", with his physical play he would fit perfectly in the USF secondary.

"I'm going to take things slowly. I want my mom to check out all the schools I'm interested in, she's going to play a big part in my decision."

Since his mom had to work this weekend Vlad told USFNation that he will likely make another trip to Tampa this summer and bring his mom along to get a first-hand look at South Florida.

"This spring I'm working on my footwork and my all-around game. I'm just trying to be a better football player."

Stick with USFNation for the latest on Vladimir Emilien, we'll have another update with the safety once he schedules his summer visits.
