USF Offers, Pushes for Commit

Last week USFNation introduced you to local prospect Duran Lowe from Plant City HS, this week we have more big news. Only on!

In the past few weeks we have brought you a couple stories on the Plant City duo Denzel Drone and Duran Lowe. Both prospects said South Florida was among their favorites and it seemed that Denzel might be the first to get offered, well we can now report that it is Duran Lowe who will be the first of the two to get an offer from the Bulls.

"On Tuesday Coach Scott called me and asked if I was ready to commit." Adding, "I told him I couldn't do that until I had an offer."

Coach Scott offered him over the phone and told him the entire staff was pulling for him to become a Bull. So the question becomes, did Duran Lowe pull the trigger?

"It was a surprise to get the offer and I knew I had to talk to my dad first. Both of us like USF, it's my top school, but my dad thinks it's a little early to make a final decision."

Lowe says he knows where he wants to go, it's just a matter of making sure it's the right choice. Recently Rutgers, Auburn and Florida have been showing interest.

"A coach from Rutgers was at my practice and I think they are going to offer. I've been emailing a lot with a coach from UF and Auburn says they really like me."

After receiving the news Duran talked to his teammate Denzel about his first offer.

"We talked about it, Denzel was happy for me."

If/when Denzel is offered, the decision could be easier for lowe.

"That's our plan, to play together. If he's offered the plan is to play as teammates on the next level."

After talking it over with his dad, they think it's best if he waits till spring is over to make a decision.

"I'll do it after spring. I want to commit early so it's not a distraction to me or my teammates once our season starts."

USFNation expects Denzel Drone to receive an offer in the next week or two. When it happens we'll have a full update.
