Missouri QB will visit Tampa in June

4 star QB Nathan Scheelhaase spoke with USFNation back in March and said USF had just offered. 6 weeks later thing have progressed and the dual threat QB is planning a trip to Tampa. Find out which schools are the latest to offer, what he thinks about the Bulls and much more! Only on USFNation.com

This season the Bulls are recruiting a small, elite group of quarterbacks and the top name on the board is Missouri QB Nathan Scheelhaase. Scheelhaase helped lead his team to a perfect 13-0 junior season and the state championship. He completed 86 of 137 for 1861 yards, 20 touchdowns and only five interceptions. On the ground he also rushed 120 times for 917 yards and 14 scores.

"Last week Coach Gregory came by my school and saw me and talked to my coach." Adding, "I'm not allowed to talk to him in person so I called him later that night."

USF offensive coordinator Greg Gregory is Scheelhaase's main recruiter and would be working personally with Nathan if he were to choose USF.

"We had a good conversation. He talked about the opportunities I would have at South Florida. He said they are only recruiting 4 QB's and if I were to commit they would be done taking QB's for the '09 class, that was good to hear."

The 12th ranked QB in the country by Scout.com is up to 16 total offers and the latest come from Colorado, Airforce, Arizona and Illinois. The Bulls are his only offer from a school in the South East, most offers coming from the Mid-West. However, Scheelhaase says location will not play a factor in his decision.

"I'm a single child and my parents are going to move where ever I go. Finding the right school is more of a priority than location. I'm open to moving anywhere as long as the situation is right."

With no favorites, Scheelhaase says he won't be ready to name one until the summer. He plans on visiting 12 schools on a whirlwind tour that he and his parents will take this summer.

"USF will be one of my stops. I'm not going to the camp, so I won't be able to workout. I just want to go over there, hangout and see what the campus and school is all about."

Scheelhaase says there are a group of 4 schools that are recruiting him the hardest and USF is one of them.

"I'd say it's Illinois, Iowa, Stanford, they all send a lot of mail. I get emails every day from Coach Leavitt at USF and Ole Miss also recruits me pretty hard."

Scheelhaase reports a 3.7 core GPA and is recently took the ACT on April 12. Missouri high schools don't have spring football, instead Scheelhaase runs track and throws the ball with some teammates on his own to stay in football shape.

Look for another update from USFNation once Scheelhaase sets an exact visit date with the Bulls.
