"I committed to Coach Leavitt and it's a done deal."

Kamran Joyer was offered by the Bulls coaching staff about three weeks ago and has been naming South Florida as his top choice, today he took it a step further by giving the staff his verbal commitment.

"I went to Miami this weekend and didn't really like it, I came back to Tampa and decided my best opportunity is with the Bulls."

After his junior season, Joyer was named first team All-Conference and second team All-State for his junior performance adding between 60 and 70 pancake blocks for the season, and recently named to the St. Petersburg Times Nifty Nine.

"I committed early because I was worried about getting hurt my senior year and USF told me if I did get injured my offer would still stand."

Joyer who also claims offers from South Carolina, Tennessee and Illinois says it came down to three.

"It came down to Florida, USF and Miami. Florida said they would take me if I was a December graduate, but I want to compete in weight lifting my senior year." Last year Joyer finished in the top 5 at the state finals for weight lifting and is considered a favorite as a senior. The Bulls coaching staff is looking at him at center and could move him around once he gets on campus.

"I told the coaches I'm ready to commit and ready to be a Bull."

Joyer will be at the USF camp this Saturday and says he will not take any other visits. He is the fourth commit of the '09 class and a welcomed addition as the first O-lineman to commit this year.
