USF Picks-up 7th Commit Since SuperBull!

After an unbelievable night on Saturday, the Bulls picked up 6 commits, now USFNation is reporting Breaking News of a 7th commit. This lockdown cornerback called Coach Leavitt last night to tell him he's ready to be a Bull. Read on to find out why he chose South Florida over several other top 25 teams. Only on!

The momentum from South Florida's first annual SuperBull hasn't come to rest yet! Today Jaquez Jenkins informed USFNation that he called Coach Leavitt last night and gave his verbal commitment, making him the 7th commit since Saturday night.

"They showed me a lot of love and after seeing the coaches, the stadium and everything on Saturday I went home and talked it over with my parents. We made a decision and South Florida is the place for me."

At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds Jenkins put up impressive numbers his junior year. He had 700 yards passing, 400 yards rushing and 300 yards receiving. You name it he played it QB, RB, WR, Slot, FS, CB, PR/KR. However, he has been recruited as a corner by the Bulls coaching staff, filling the shoes of another well-known Jenkins that just graduated will be no easy task.

"I like Mike Jenkins, I watched him a lot when he was at USF. We have the same last name and both wear number 4!" Jenkins received his official offer from USF during the Spring Eval period and has had a close relationship with the coaches ever since.

"Coach Gregrory was my main recruiter, I also talked with Coach Douglas because he'd be my position coach. Coach Douglas is funny, I can relate to him and I think he'll be a great coach for me."

Jenkins brings more than just size to the corner position, at the recent Southeast Combine held in Tampa, he was clocked at a 4.38 forty.

"I'm a lengthy corner, not a lot of corners come out of high school at my size. I have good hips, I can move around, I'm physical and I have speed."

Overall Jaquez had 13 total offers, but never seriously considered any other team besides the Bulls.

"I never even got a chance to narrow it down, I just knew where I wanted to be."

That says a lot considering Jenkins had offers from Illinois, Iowa State, South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Louisville. He considers himself 100% committed and said he's excited to have a chance to work with the staff and play in the Big East.
