If you look all the way back into the USFNation archives, two weeks after the '08 signing day we talked to Sterling Griffin, Pace WR -- he said South Florida was the first team to offer and his early favorite. It's been five months since that story was written and Griffin still feels the same way.

"I don't have a list, but I believe USF is my number one." Adding, "Besides USF I like Purdue, Ole Miss and Virginia."

This weekend Sterling and a couple teammates made a trip to Tampa to get a closer look at what USF has to offer.

"I was there this weekend, it was good, Larry (Scott) took us around campus, showed us the facilities and then took us to the offices and we talked to Jim Leavitt. Coach Leavitt is real down to earth, I like him."

The Bulls were the first to offer the 6-foot-2, 175 pound receiver. Since then interest has picked up and Griffin now holds 9 offers.

"I'm probably going to wait till my season to make my decision. I'm going to take a couple official visits before deciding."

South Florida has been Griffin's leader since the start, what more do they need to do to get his commitment?

"I think I want to go to a game and see how it is, the atmosphere, what the team goes through, the preparation and all that. I want to see it all."

Griffin also says he wants his parents to see the campus and meet the USF coaches. His parents haven't been on any of his unofficial visits, but they will most likely accompany him on his official visits.
