Will the Bulls make the cut in Forte's top 5?

Julius Forte is finished with camps and combines for the summer and ready to focus on the season. USFNation caught up with the 6'2 pass-rusher to get his thoughts on an exciting summer, what coaches he's been calling and why he most likely won't be taking an official visit to USF this fall. After a summer filled with camps and workouts, Julius Forte is ready for a break – a very short break. He'll only have a couple days off before fall practice starts, the 6-foot-2, 235 pound defensive end says he's proud of what he accomplished this summer.

"I'm done for the summer." Forte added, "I feel good about how I performed, I would have liked to do even more camps, but I feel good."

Forte said the best camp he attended this summer was USF's first annual SuperBull, where he stood out as one of the top defensive lineman at the event.

"The SuperBull was my favorite, it's always good playing under the lights at Raymond James!"

With his summer coming to an end it looks like he'll enter his senior year with 13 offers in hand. The most recent offer coming from Big East rival Louisville. Forte told USFNation he'd like to have a top 5 narrowed down in the next week or two.

"I'm trying to do that right now. I've been working on it with my mom and I have a pretty good idea of what it will look like."

When asked if South Florida would make the cut for his top 5, Forte answered back quickly.

"Of course!"

No school has gotten more visits from Forte this summer than USF, so what do the Bulls still need to show him before he makes his decision.

"Not too much. I just want to see their dorms and the academic side of their program. I'm not sure I'll take an official visit there because it's only 30 minutes away, but I will visit there this fall."

Since the coaches aren't allowed to call recruits during the summer it's up to Forte to call the program's he's interested in. It's also a good way to gage what teams will most likely end up in his top 5.

"Beside USF I stay in touch with Louisville, Ole Miss some, Indiana a lot and both Iowa and Iowa State."

Julius Forte is still planning on making a final decision after his official visits have concluded, but did leave the door open for an early commitment by saying that if he gets "that feeling" at any point in the next few months he could pull the trigger and commit early. Whenever he does get that feeling and commits the team that gets him will not only get a great athlete, but they'll get a great student as well. He currently boasts a 3.5 GPA and an 18 on his ACT's. USFNation will catch-up with Forte once more before his season starts to see where USF will land on his top 5.
