Jeffery Starts Rehab on Knee, Names Leaders

It's important that the Bulls land a solid defensive line class this year. Sarasota Booker DT Arthur Jeffery is one of the keys to doing so. The 6-foot-4, 285 pound 4-star tackle talks with USFNation.com about his injury rehab, which coaches he's closest with and who's made his top 4. Read on for the details.

The road to recovery started last Friday when Arthur Jeffery underwent successful surgery on a torn ACL. Jeffery injured the knee in the opening game of his senior year. Although he can't help the team on the field he says he's been doing everything he can off of it to encourage his team.

"It's frustrating sometimes, but I do the best that I can with getting them ready to play."

After the surgery Jeffery's trainer gave him his schedule which has him starting at the basics of getting his muscles stronger.

"My trainer has me doing some contractions on my thigh muscles. I haven't been using the muscle at all since the injury, so he wants me to work on that and then go on from there."

On the recruiting front Jeffery says no new offers have come in, which has given him time to name a top 4.

"I have Tennessee, South Florida, Georgia and Florida. Those are the main teams that have been staying after me. I actually really like all four, I don't have a leader."

When it comes to visits Jeffery doesn't have any planned but says he will use all 5.

"I was supposed to go up to Tennessee last Friday but that was the same day as my surgery. I'm going to visit the 4 schools I named and probably figure out one more."

Before he can start traveling Arthur says he'd like to let his knee heal-up a bit more.

"Since I can't make visits for a few weeks it will push back my decision. I'm in no rush right now, I have plenty of time left."

Throughout this challenging time, Jeffery says there have been two coaches that he's developed a close relationship with.

"Coach Brooks from Tennessee and Coach Franks from USF have been the ones calling me and checking up on me the most."

In the next two weeks Arthur says he hopes to schedule a couple visits. USFNation will have another update with the 4-star DT once a trip is booked, stay tuned.
