Griffin Takes First Official Visit, Purdue

The Bulls were the first team to offer WR Sterling Griffin back in the spring and he's one of the top recruits on their board. But this weekend Griffin took his first official visit. Find out what he thought of his trip to Purdue, where the Bulls now stand and when he'll make a final decision.

One of the top wide receiver names on the South Florida recruiting board is Sterling Griffin from Miami Pace HS. The 6-foot-1, 170 pound wideout took his first official visit and caught a great game. He was at Purdue to see them take on Michigan.

"My visit went real good." Adding, "I enjoyed the game, it was a big win. Everything went real well, the weather was nice, it was actually kinda hot."

"I got to meet with all the coaches and I had fun just hanging out with the players."

Griffin plans on taking two more visits, one to Kansas State and one South Florida.

"I got Kansas State lined up for early December and then the South Florida visit is either late December or early January."

Although he didn't want to rank his favorites, Griffin admitted Purdue, USF and Kansas State are the three teams he's focused on right now.

"I don't really have a leader or top school, but those are the top 3 teams I'm looking at."

With two games remaining in his senior year Griffin is having an exciting season with over 500 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns, helping his team to a 6-2 record.

"I feel like it's been a good year, it's not over yet, we got the playoffs coming up."

A final decision for Sterling won't come for at least another 2 months. He plans on taking the rest of his visits and making his announcement in mid-January. After having a great visit to Purdue, it could be tough for another school to top that experience.

"I felt like I fit in with the players and staff, it was a great all-around visit."

USFNation will stay in touch with Griffin as he heads toward his announcement in January, stay tuned.
