Selvie Hosts 5-Star JUCO Defensive Lineman

Who better to host one of the top JUCO DE/DT's in the country than the man himself -- George Selvie. Find out how Jason Pierre-Paul and Selvie got a long, what he thought of his meeting with Coach Leavitt and who his current leader is. Get informed, only on!

One of the most important visitors of the weekend was Fort Scott defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul. The 6-foot-5, 280 pound DE/DT was in Tampa for the weekend to see what it would be like to finish his college career as a Bull.

"My visit went real good." Said Pierre-Paul "My host was George Selvie. I didn't know him before the visit, he's a lot like me though, we got along great. We talked about next year and what it would be like if I joined him on the defensive line. I met with David Bedford too, it would be great to play with those guys."

For the record, Selvie told Pierre-Paul that he would indeed be sticking around for his senior year. Something all Bulls fans wanted to hear.

"The best part of my trip was hanging out with some of the guys on Saturday night. We didn't do much, just went to a party, but it was fun talking with them. I was with George and (Jarriett) Buie."

Before he left, Jason sat down with Coach Leavitt and had a private conversation with South Florida's head coach.

"We talked about how when he first met me in high school he knew I would be a great football player. I've known Coach Leavitt for a long time. He really wants me to come to USF, we had a good talk."

Pierre-Paul has two visits left and says a decision won't come until he's completed his final trip in January to Kansas State. He's previously visited Nebraska, Arizona and Kansas, where does his USF visit rank among the others?

"I'd say my USF visit is the best so far. I liked the players and the banquet, I just had a really good time."

Besides talking with coach Leavitt, Jason says there was another coach that he bonded with.

"Coach Patrick was a real cool guy. We get a long good and he tells me there is no doubt about it I could come in and play right away. He was all fired up about it."

Before boarding his flight back to school, Jason told USFNation that the Bulls are now his leader and he should make a final decision in about a month. Stay tuned for the latest on Jason Pierre-Paul, things will get interesting as Signing Day approaches.
