Marvin Robinson, the 6-foot-1, 204 pound 4-star safety from Lake Region High School in Eagle Lake, Fl is one of the top safeties in the state and on Saturday visited the Bulls first scrimmage.

"It was good," said Robinson. "I was looking at Nate Allen and the safeties in particular."

Robinson finished his junior season with 98 tackles, four interceptions, four blocked punts and two fumbles caused. He also had five touchdowns on offense with three rushing scores and two receiving. He's a dynamic two-way player, but was more interested in the Bulls defense.

"I was seeing what the defensive player's strategy was, and they looked good," said Robinson. "The DB coach and D-coordinator was telling me that because he's new they're still learning the plays, but overall it was very good."

"Coach Tresey is a great man and we have a good relationship. He was telling me that as a freshman I could come in and start."

Marvin said he talked to all the coaches at the scrimmage including Head coach Jim Leavitt.

"Coach Leavitt told me they want me to play there real bad and they can use me at safety and on the offensive side of the ball, but mostly safety," said Robinson. "We've talked earlier in the year and he's a great guy and we have a good relationship too."

Robinson who says he runs a 4.5-40, and can bench 355-pounds, squat 495 and claims a 37-inch vertical jump was also on the USF campus a few weeks back for the Scout/Badger 7 on 7 passing tournament where he was named all-tournament team.

"That was great. There was some great competition out there. I really liked the format better than any other camp I've been to. It was closer to a live game situation with."

Robinson has 14-15 scholarship offers including, Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska, Florida, South Florida, Boston College, Tennessee, USC, Clemson, UCLA, Rutgers, UCF, FIU, and Southern Miss.

"I'm really wide open but I have some favorites right now, Michigan, South Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State."

"There all pretty close," Robinson said. "USF, Michigan and Central Florida are probably recruiting me the hardest."

The 14th ranked safety in the nation spoke more about the Bulls and his interest in them.

"At USF, the coaches are great, and they're a program on the rise," said Robinson. ‘After talking to the players, they say everything is great, they're a family oriented team, and basically have everything I'm looking for in a college."

Inside the classroom, Robinson claims a 3.0 GPA, will take the SAT this month and plans on being an early graduate, but is looking forward to his senior season.

"I want to help get my team to a championship and become a more vocal leader, instead of just leading by example."

Robinson will attend the UCF junior day this Saturday and doesn't know the rest of his schedule yet but knows he'll have a busy summer with camps and visits, and plans on making his decision after his season.
