The Bulls annual spring game was one for the ages. It had lots of scoring, turnovers and an exciting last second finish. Everything a football fan could want in a game played in April.

The game turned out to be a battle of the two redshirt freshmen quarterbacks who put on a show for the close to 5,000 fans in attendance . B.J. Daniels scored three times finishing with 11-of-19 for 181 yards, two touchdown passes, one rushing and one interception. His counterpart, Evan Landi also threw two touchdowns, going 20-of-30 for 189 yards, and two interceptions.

Bulls starter Grothe saw little action as expected, playing in just two first half series, going 3-4 for 26 yards. "I got Matt out after I saw him throw a block," said Leavitt. "I said that was it, and let the two freshmen play."

The fans that left early missed one of the greatest finishes one could ask for in a spring game. With just over two minutes left in the game and the White team down 21-14, quarterback Evan Landi started on his own 12 yard line and engineered a drive that ended with a 4-yard touchdown to Colby Erskin in the back of the end zone as time expired in the fourth quarter. Down 21-20 with no time left, the White team went for two points and the win, but Landi's pass to Theo Wilson fell incomplete in the corner of the end zone, giving the Green team a 21-20 win.

First Half Notes:

The fireworks started early when on the second play from scrimmage quarterback B.J Daniels scrambled and threw a 55-yard strike to WR Dontavia Bogan and then two plays later the freshman QB took the ball on a bootleg, withstood a nice hit from safety Nate Allen for a 1-yard score, and a 7-0 lead.

The white team also got on the board early when Landi relieved Matt Grothe and on his first series rolled out and threw a beautiful deep pass to redshirt-freshman Daniel Bryant for a 55-yard score to tie the game at 7-7 early in the 1st.

Daniels then put together a nice drive throwing and running to move the chains before finding Jeffrey Wilson who made a nice move to find the end zone for a 20-yard score and a 14-7 lead.

On the very next play from scrimmage, Tyson Butler stepped in front of a Landi pass, picked it off and raced down to the 14 yard line, giving the green team great field position. The white defense held as both DT Keith McCaskill had a nice inside surge to force third down. On the next play Quenton Washington intercepted a Daniels' pass and raced 95-yards showing nifty moves in scoring a TD and tying the game at 14 apiece.

-Both Daniels and Landi were not wearing their yellow don't hit me jersey

-Quenton made two players miss, including B.J. when he took it to the house,
