The Bulls O-line won't be getting immediate help from College of the Desert OL Carlos Savala. The massive left tackle was a key part of the 2009 recruiting class, but will not play for the Bulls this season due to academic issues.
There has been a lot of talk this week that 2009 JUCO signee Carlos Savala, and that the offensive lineman's availability for the 2009 season was in question. I previously mentioned in my summer report that he wasn't on campus while finishing up classes at the College of the Desert in California, and until he was couldn't be counted on for the upcoming season.
This afternoon, it was made official that Carlos Savala will not be part of the team for the 2009 season, while he finishes up at College of the Desert. Bulls Head Jim Coach Leavitt hopes that after completing his classes, he can join the program in January and still have two years of eligibility remaining.
