Former Bull and rookie defensive end Jarriett Buie was re-signed by the Buccaneers on Tuesday and will get another opportunity after previously being released on Saturday. They also signed center Jonathan Compas off of waivers, and to make room on the 75-man roster, the team waived cornerback Marshall McDuffie and former USF guard Ryan Schmidt.
"It's hard to say how I feel," said Buie "I just got to stay focused, do my thing and hope things work out in my favor."
The 6-3, 260-pound Buie, was signed by the Buccaneers after a post-draft rookie camp on May 4. Buie played in the Bucs' first three preseason games, recording two tackles and a tackle for loss. Buie started all 13 games as a senior, finishing with five sacks, 31 tackles and two forced fumbles.
Schmidt was Buie's teammate at USF, playing in 26 games with 25 starts. He was signed by the Buccaneers on August 2 during training camp.
Another former Bull offensive guard Marc Dile, who was signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent is still with the team and listed on the two-deep depth chart behinf Jeremy Zuttah.
The former Bulls have four days to see if they'll make the Buccaneer's 53-man roster.
