On Monday morning the BIG EAST announced that Bulls safety Nate Allen was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, and WR Carlton Mitchell earned honorable mention for their performance in the Bulls 34-20 win over the Orange Saturday. Also earning this week's Conference football honors were Pittsburgh quarterback Bill Stull and West Virginia punter Scott Kozlowski
The BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, Allen earned the honor after he led a USF defense that forced a school record seven turnovers in the Bulls' 34-20 win at Syracuse. He had a team-high eight tackles and two interceptions. Allen leads the Bulls with 29 tackles, 2 interceptions and 5 passes defended this season.
USF wide receiver Carlton Mitchell had six receptions for career-highs of 139 yards, and two touchdowns in a 34-20 win at Syracuse. The first was a 33-Yrder in the firsat half, and the second was a 85-yard strike to open the third. The 139 yards is just 10 shy of the school record 149 by Cliff Dell in USF's inaugural game in 1997. His 85-yard catch was the second-longest in school history (DeAndrew Rubin from Marquel Blackwell for, 95 yards against Northern Illinois in 2002).
Pitt's Bill Stull was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after he completed 16 of 23 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers' 35-10 win at Louisville. He threw two touchdown passes in the third quarter to help Pitt erase a 10-7 halftime deficit and directed scoring drives on four of the Panthers' five second-half possessions. Scott Kozlowski was chosen as BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week after he helped protect the Mountaineers' 35-24 win against Colorado by averaging 48 yards on four punts with a long of 56 yards. He hit two third-quarter punts from inside the West Virginia 20 that tipped the field position battle to Colorado's side of the field and pinned the Buffaloes on their own 8-yard line on a fourth-quarter kick.

Alex Daniels, DE, Cincinnati — Had eight tackles and four sacks as part of Cincinnati's 10-sack performance in a 37-13 win at Miami (Ohio).
Greg Romeus, DE, Pittsburgh — Had five tackles with 3.5 sacks in a 35-10 win at Louisville.
Carlton Mitchell, WR, USF — Had six receptions for career-highs of 139 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-20 win at Syracuse.
Mike Williams, WR, Syracuse — Had 186 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 13 receptions in a 34-20 loss to USF.
Allen & Mitchell & Daniels are the fifth & sixth USF football player to earn BIG EAST weekly honors so far this season.
In week three USF defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, and QB B.J. Daniels earned honorable mention for their performance in the Bulls 17-stunning win over FSU.
In week two Bulls' running back Moise Plancher earned a spot on the BIG EAST weekly honor roll for his performance against Western Kentucky after rushing for a career-high 115 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulls' 35-13 win at Western Kentucky.
In week one Safety Nate Allen made the honor roll after recording a team-high 10 tackles and forced a fumble in USF's 40-7 win against Wofford.
