The last time USFNation spoke with a member of the Miami Central Trio, Jeffrey Godfrey said that Josh Reese, Brandon Gainer and himself were thinking about scheduling a visit with South Florida during their bye week. Today we caught up with the 6-foot, 170 pound WR who confirmed that, saying he's been in talks with USF Coach Larry Scott and the three of them will be making a trip to USF sometime in the 3-4 weeks.
This season Miami Central is off to a great start with Reese hauling in 4 TD's in the first half of the season. On the recruiting side of things, Josh says USF and UCF have been the two teams he talks with on a weekly basis.
"Coach Scott and I haven't set a date but its going to be real soon. We (Godfrey and Gainer) have talked about it and we'll be making a trip to USF real soon."
Besides USF and UCF, he's also getting contacted by a few other teams.
"I'd say about every other week I talk with Florida, FSU, Tennessee, Nebraska. We stay in contact every once in a while."
Out of all the teams recruiting him, Reese says Coach Kelly from UCF is on him the hardest.
"I feel like they need me more. I get a lot of mail from them and talk with Coach Kelly every week."
When Reese isn't on the field, he's relaxing off of it, usually in front of a TV watching football on Saturday. He says he's seen a lot of West Virginia, Miami and USC. He didn't get to see the USF/FSU game but he heard about it and wasn't shocked by the outcome.
"I didn't have a chance to see that game," adding "It wasn't a surprise to me. They've been a growing team over the last few years and winning big games is part of the process, so I wasn't that surprised when I heard they won."
Reese says of all the games he's seen the West Virginia offense has impressed him the most.
"I know they got Noel Divine and he's a great runner but they still throw the ball a lot and get it downfield."
On September 25th Reese took his first official visit to Nebraska, he says it was a great visit and they're in the picture, but his top two teams haven't changed – USF and UCF are his favorites. Does that mean a commitment is possible on the upcoming visit to Tampa?
"I don't know about that. I'm still thinking that I'm going to announce around playoff time. Maybe after one of the games or maybe at school, I want to take a few more visits first."
Josh says he doesn't know if all three of them will commit during that time or just him. He said they'll figure that out in the coming weeks. For now the focus is on this week's game, the biggest of the season – Miami Central vs. Miami Northwestern. Keep it locked on USFNation, we'll have the more on the Trio as they schedule their visits.
