USF Commits Reaction to Holtz Hiring

On Thursday, after a week of speculation, we learned that ECU's Skip Holtz would be USF's next head coach. Afterward USFNation.com has caught up with several of the Bulls' verbal commits to get their first reactions

After a week of speculation, Bulls fans learned that East Carolina's Skip Holtz would be USF's next head coach. Afterward USFN caught up with several of the Bulls' verbal commits to get their first reactions on the Bulls new head coach.

Brion Carnes, quarterback, (6'1-185) Manatee High School, Bradenton, FL - 3-star prospect currently ranked the 46th QB in the nation, and was the Bulls first commit of the 2010 class.

"Yeah I heard he was going to be the new head coach. I heard a lot of good things about him. I'm going up this weekend on my official, and hopefully I'll get to talk to him while I'm there."

Mike Hayes, running back, (5-9, 200) Blinn College, Texas, East Berlin HS, TX - 3-star prospect that committed on 1/05/2010.

"I know he ran a great program at ECU. And positive he'll be a great coach at USF! I'm very excited to meet him! Get to know him and talk about how he runs the program!

Chris Veron, Kicker/punter, (6-1-205 ) Ocala Forest High School, Ocala FL – 2-star prospect committed on 7/23.

"I think he's a good coach, he did well at East Carolina. I think He will do well here at Tampa. I'm looking forward to meeting him this weekend on my visit.

Jamaal Montague, Wide Receiver, (6'1-205) Columbia High School, Lake City, FL – Super sleeper WR, Not yet rated, committed on 12/19.

"I don't know all too much about him, but I'm cool with it."

Marcus Shaw, running back, (5'10-180) Desoto High School, Arcadia FL – 3-star prospect rated 35th in the nation, committed on 10/22.

"I found out today, I like the hire, I like it a lot. He's a good coach for running backs, and likes to run the ball. He had Chris Johnson from the Titans, so I got to like that. I'm excited to meet him on my visit."
