After riding an unprecedented four-game Big Eat winning streak, including two huge wins over nationally rank Pittsburgh and Georgetown, the USF Bulls received two votes in this week's AP Top 25 Poll that was released Monday afternoon. Even though the Bulls lost a close one to Notre Dame Sunday, they still received votes, and are unofficially as the 44th best team in the Nation.
"Our recent streak has moved our team and the program in the right direction," said Coach Heath. "We still have a long way to go, but it's good to see USF's name on the list and receiving votes."
USF defeated Providence (109-105), Seton Hall (76-74), Georgetown (72-64) and Pittsburgh (70-61) before losing at Notre Dame (65-62), and will face Marquette (2/13) and Villanova (2/24) in the next two weeks.
The Bulls have never been listed in the AP Top 25, but play in the BIG EAST conference that currently boasts five top 25 teams, including 4 in the top seven, No. 2 Syracuse, No. 4 Villanova, No. 5 West Virginia, No. 7 Georgetown, No. 25 Pittsburgh with Marquette and South Florida receiving votes.
The Bulls continues their road trip at Marquette on Feb. 13, and then return home to square off against Cincinnati on February 16 at the Sun Dome.
