USF Announces 2010 Football Schedule

USF's 2010 football schedule was released today and it includes 7 home games, and 4 games guaranteed to be televised by ESPN/ABC. The Bulls open against Stony Brook, and then travel to the swamp to face the Gators. The race for the BIG EAST title begins at home versus the Orange and also closes at home against UCONN. They will play games on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

USF, in conjunction with the Big East Conference, released its schedule today, and it includes at least four games to be broadcast by the ESPN/ABC family, as many as any team in the conference.

USF will have seven home games for the first time since 2001 and has four guaranteed national television games and the Bulls games with West Virginia (ESPN), Cincinnati (ESPN2), Rutgers (ESPN2) and UConn (ABC, ESPN or ESPN2) will be broadcast in high definition.

The Bulls begin the regular season under Skip Holtz at home against Stony Brook on Saturday, Sept. 4. Than in week two USF travels to the Swamp for the highly-anticipated, first meeting with the Florida Gators on Saturday, Sept. 11.

After a bye during week three, USF begins a three game home stretch starting with Western Kentucky (Saturday, Sept. 25), followed by FAU (Saturday, Oct. 2).

The race for the 2010 BIG EAST football championship and Bowl Championship Series berth will begin for the Bulls on Saturday, Oct. 9 at Raymond James Stadium against the Syracuse Orange.

Five days later (Oct. 14), the Bulls will travel to Morgantown to face their heated rivals, the WVU Mountaineers in a Thursday night primetime game at 7:30 p.m. West Virginia will host UNLV on Oct. 9, which is the same day USF hosts Syracuse and five days prior to the Thursday night game

After an eight-day break the Bulls hit the road again for a Friday ESPN2 showcase at two-time defending BIG EAST Champion Cincinnati. Kick-off is slated for 8 p.m. Cincinnati will travel to Louisville on Friday, Oct. 15 and have one less day of preparation for USF, who it will host on Friday, Oct. 22.

After another bye week, USF hosts Rutgers on a rare Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally by ESPN2, and is the Bulls' first Wednesday night game since playing UAB in Conference USA action in 2004. Both USF and Rutgers have byes the weekend prior to their Wednesday night game.

The Bulls than have 10 days before hitting the road against Louisville on Saturday, Nov. 13, the final conference road game of the 2010 regular season. This is the Bulls only trip North after the month of October.

USF will host Pitt on Saturday, Nov. 20 before traveling to Miami (FL) for game two of the five-game series on Saturday, Nov. 27.

For the first time since 2005 the Bulls will host the regular season finale at Raymond James Stadium against UConn on Saturday, Dec. 4. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC with a time to be determined approximately two week prior to kickoff.
