Mitchell decided to forego his senior season at South Florida and enter the NFL Draft and it looks like he made a wise decision. Mitchell measured in at 6'3 and 215 pounds, and has the physical attributes and tools to be a big time deep threat at the next level.
Mitchell ran well in the forty with unofficial times of 4.44 and 4.42. His official time was listed as 4.49, 10th-best among receivers.
Mitchell showed his strength as he was a top performer in the bench press with 16 reps, and also showed his explosive ability as he was a top performer with a 10'2" broad jump (tied for sixth-best.)
In position drills Mitchell caught the ball extremely well and ran good routes, outperforming some of the bigger named receivers at the combine.
The former Bull showed he has the physical attributes, tools, and speed to be a big time deep threat. After his showing Sunday he was labeled a combine riser by several organizations including ESPN, Scout.com, sports Illustrated, and CBS Sports.
After his performance in Indianapolis, expect Mitchell to start getting second-round grades and consideration.
