Rising senior Ruben Gonzalez of Robinson High School (FL) was truly impressive at the USF Sling & Shoot this past weekend. At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Robinson excelled at both receiver and safety and was one of the better looking two-way athletes on the field. In this USFN exclusive, the Robinson standout that's up to 15 offers talks about the tourney, his recruitment and summer visit plans.
Robinson's two-way standout Ruben Gonzales put on a show this past weekend playing both receiver and safety, catching a ton of passes and around 11 touchdowns on offense, with 4 interceptions on defense. He may not have an elite 40-time, but plays much faster on the field and uses his 6-foot-3, 205 pound frame and long arms to catch the ball at the highest point, or to break a pass up, and was a true competitor.
Before the spring Ruben had one offer but now is up 15 offers, including offers from Purdue, Iowa State, Minnesota, Toledo, New Mexico, to name a few, and is also hearing a lot from Rutgers and USF.
