The Bulls had a light practice in shorts only leading up to the first scrimmage of training camp.
Before I get into my report, I have to mention for anyone planning on attending, that the kick-off has been moved up to 11:00 am, with warm-ups beginning at 10:30.If you're planning on going, bring plenty of sunscreen, a hat, umbrella or whatever you need for protection.
After the team stretch was finished the entire team got up and started charging right towards me like a stampeding heard. As the mass of players went all around me and past me, I saw they were actually heading to a family with three kids in the roped off fan section. They lined up and every single player on the team shook or high-fived the kids.
I found out afterwards from chaplain David Lane that they were a local family who has come to a bunch of the practices and one of the kids is quite ill. It was really a nice moment and a classy act by the Bulls. I know the Bulls had some fans in the Vero Beach area before coming to Dodger town, and there's no doubt that they have a lot more now. Here are a few shots I snapped.
First thing I noticed was that TE Jeff Hawkins has rejoined the team in practice after missing the last four days with concussion-like symptoms. FB Chase Griffiths (concussion-like symptoms) hasn't practiced since arriving in Vero Beach was still a bystander on the sidelines with Popek, Love, and Griffin. Several other players who missed a few practices or a portion, WR Victor Marc (knee), OL John McGhin (Heat/dehydration), and Spencer Boyd (Dehydration/cramps) returned as well. WR T.J. Knowles who sat out the latter part of yesterday's practice wasn't dressed as he recovers from heat/Dehydration.
