He's been on multiple visits, to camps, and on Saturday took in his first game at Ford Stadium to see a SMU victory over UAB.
"It was a good game. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, but SMU did a great job. The defense looks really good. I was really impressed," said Weeks. "I watched them on TV a couple times, but never made it to a game.
"The fans seem pretty cool. Nothing crazy or anything, unlike some of the games I have gone to. I enjoyed this game more than any other game I have been to. It wasn't packed, but it was an awesome game. The new scoreboard is awesome. It looks pretty good when they are showing video up there. It's huge."
While Weeks might not have made it to any games last year as a junior, he expects to make up for it this season.
"I should be at every home game. I'm even going to hit the TCU game next Friday. My game is on Thursday that week," said the Sachse product. "It should be pretty exciting in there."
While Weeks has seen the Mustangs on television, he has never seen the SMU offensive line or SMU offensive line coach Adrian Klemm up close and personal. It was a great experience for the senior, as now he has somewhat of an idea of what he is getting himself into next season.
"I always watch the offensive line. It's sort of a habit (chuckle)," said Weeks. "I tried to get a feel for the scheme they run and stuff like that. I think I have some sort of an idea of how they pass protect and block in the offense. I also was watching the line on PATs as well."
Saschse is 2-1 after dropping their first game of the season. Against Houston and Hillcrest the last two weeks, the Mustangs have outscored their opponents 95-14.
"Our season is going really good. The last game our offensive line had a bit of a step back, but we are trying to get better," said Weeks. "Our defense has really stepped it up, especially the front seven. We have a more advanced offense than we have ever had, at least since I have been here. We have some high hopes this season. The best part is everyone is on board."
Sachse plays North Garland this Thursday and then it's a match-up with SMU commitment Zach Wood and Rowlett, the night before the SMU/TCU game.
